I'm hoping to do a Plumbing 'Level 2' course at college next February when I will be 23.

Do you think 23 is too old to start the course?
Even though its for over 19's.

I just feel like Ive wasted my youth high on drugs and now im too old for any employer to take me on because I wont have the skills of someone else my age who has been doing it since 16/17.

Well, as a heating and air guy, I can tell you that there are SEVERAL people in my trade that are well over 40 that still haven't got a CLUE what they're doing. Don't worry about how old you are (which BTW, isn't old at all); worry about how well you learn the material.

Most of the people I know who went to classes like that at 16/17 spent all their time getting high too. So you are not alone. Go for it.

I'm going on 30 and went back for an undergrad. I think you'll be fine. :p

As somebody who's fathers a plumber and I personally have a few years of plumbing experience, you will be fine. Things may be different wherever you live, but in Ontario you will need to find somebody to apprentice you. If you can find somebody willing, you will be fine. You will find that around 95% of trades workers are regular stoners, with some other people loving the other drugs. Just be smart about things and learn as much as you can.
