Plugging shards (meth) in capsules

Not really comfortable with the dilute in water plug with needless syringe plugging, but back in the day used to plug caps I had filled with pure MDMA. If I put some shards into an empty capsule would this produce a greater high than if I consumed those caps orally? What is the typical duration of plugging in comparison to oral and snorting ROA.
