Hi, all. I've actually been lurking on and following Google links to this site in addition to Erowid — especially when it comes to the Dos & Definitely Don'ts of drug use. I've been registered at a couple of other sites so I figured: why not join this one, too?

I'm currently 29
— going on the big 3-0 in August — and I hail from Savannah, GA. (Not originally, moved from Syracuse, New York about six years ago.) I've got a burning passion for writing, both creative and non, philosophy, physics and theoretical physics/metaphysics, ontology, cosmogony, languages, cartoons eastern and western, sci-fi/fantasy, and communication. (Not the technological type, though I like that, too, but more of the dialogue type, tying in with my love of languages — even all aspects and histories of this one.)

Personal drug use history? Well, I've had severely manic-depressive depression and suicidal tendencies since I was in high school. I started taking Escitalopram then. I've been on and off it, more recently being switched to Fluoxetine and Buspirone. But — my all-too-fast-growing tolerance of doctor's recommendations aside all of them pale in comparison to the strength of Benadryl/Diphenhydramine (and also Doxylamine) as far as instantly quelling my insanity-bordering panic/anxiety attacks. Plus, as a kid, I had a lot of surgeries, so actually, while some people have professed not liking the post-anesthesia-type lightheadedness, it's actually very nostalgic and enjoyable for me. I think I've gotten just a little past the point of dependence, but don't know for sure. Again, it's just the easiest go-to thing for me. (And using it as intended, especially when I've got little time to sleep between getting off a late shift and starting an early one.)

I recently ran out of DPH, and while looking for a similarly effective substitute, I came upon some bottles of Hydrocodone AND Oxycodone. I had read about Cold Water Extractions, so decided to try it — especially for the Oxy because it's usually a staggering 5/325 ratio actual-Oxy-versus-Aspirin and too much of the latter, as I've read, can pretty much perma-bust up your liver. (Granted, it's usually prescribed for intense pain, so...yeah.) Used some spare coffee filters, and everything went fine. I admit, I was probably a little too eager about first-timing the stuff; I took additional pills after I drank my Hydro-Oxy cocktail (i.e. the Oxy, because I read how it's just a little bit more potent than the Hydro), overshot it and underestimated my low-to-nil tolerance, and wound up puking. I am definitely dropping those for a long time, possibly forever. Especially because I checked, and, well, taking Schedule II/III drugs that aren't prescribed specifically to you is a felony (!) And I was upset about a recent parking ticket, DO NOT WANT that on my record. Or taking a chunk out of my life — hey, I've watched every season of Lockup and Hard Time, I know where that road goes...

One more thing I'd like to try at least once is Temazepam. Heard about it in an episode of HLN's Forensic Files and am super-curious to see how it compares with my other experiences and if it might legitimately knock me out so I could use it for its "intended purpose." (Hoping that my tango with diph has not left permanent damage enough to actually need something to let me get any sleep from here on in.)

TL;DR I'm here because I've been by here before so much anyway, and figured it would be good to participate in discussions with people who more-than know what they're doing and that I can look up to and go to for help with this stuff. And who, as such, can sympathize at least, even empathize with me on the matter. *HUGS for everybody* Thanks for letting me under your wing, guys. Much appreciated!
