Please help track marks

I have read through all the threads here and opiophile

its been 2 months since i shot anything and ive tried all the advice given but still have tiny red dots on my inner elbows on my hands and outta elbows have cleared or scared to whitish im olive skin to begin with

i tried

vitamin e oil
neosporin
isopropyl almost after every shot
80 percent of the time i used a fresh needle
cocoa butter
aloe vera
makeup on desperate ocasions when i had to go without sleaves
spray tan didnt really make it alot better it improved it 30 percent but id have to do that every other day
i took clindamycin anitbiotics

im about one week from not being able to continue to wear long sleaves and was wondering if tanning could mask over the little red dots and is it safe my theory is when i had acne it cleared it up and i have a scar on my knee from surgery and it didnt get effected so i think it would be safe but do u think it will work or make it worse or hurt it i cant spray tan and use make up forever but maybe if i go two or three times a week tanning ill be able to darken myself enuff for no1 to notice itll be an equal dark all around. Please help me im going to disapoint my family co workers and friends they knew i had a problem but never knew i used needles im so embarassed and need help
 
Interested in this as well..I have heard of using make up but havnt tiedit.

On both of my arms Ive got huge visible scars from many months ago from shooting in the same spots/re using needles..Iusually wear a long sleeved shirt and roll it up to where it hides the scars.
 
some sort of arnica gel
mederma for scarring
incorporate fish oil into your diet

The white marks are with you forever though, I have them from IVing large shots of coke. Tanning will make them more pronounced so its best to come up with a nice little tale concerning them (ie 'oh those? I was screwing around a bonfire/camp fire and there was a 'poof' and I was burned from rather large embers')

isopropyl after your shots isn't advised, it causes more bleeding by disallowing the blood to clot.
 
the white marks are so faded and thin im just gonna put a thin peice of duct tape over it and sprey tan that tiny spot to blend it or use makeup its barely noticable cause there is hair over it but ill make sure i blend it with the whole browner skin i used everytthing trust me even when i went to detox they told me this was 2 months ago theyll dissapear in a few weeks and the ones on my hands and outter elbows did but inner elbows are little red dots that never left they were one of the worse track makrs theyve seen they got better but i feel like this is as good as its gonna get cause the last month no improvement i was stupid iving dilaudid up to 10 times a day with ritalin and heroin if i couldnt get the dills but i always used the heroin to keep me awake for the good feeling of the jam and also had to work i couldnt nod out i wish i could go back in time because now im back into lifting and getting big im 220 pretty muscular but whats it for if i gotta hide it 24/7 i ruined my life i let every1 down if this tanning doesnt help it ive never got a sunburn i have kind of dark greek skin to begin with so i dont burn and thats what makes the little red dots even worse on my brown arms

i appreciate so much the two replys and suggestions im freaking out its hot weather right now and im in a sweatshirt at home soon my mom will know something is up and it would break her heart knowing i sniffed drugs let alone shot them my friends would all be disapointed cause of all the lies and co workers would look at me as a total junk ball but i havent relapsed since ive cleaned up my act and looking forward to the future
 
Keep in mind that we are more aware of our tracks/scars than most others because we KNOW they are there and what caused them. Most of the general public don't notice and wouldn't have a clue as to their source
 
thats def true i try to look at myself in my mirror ten feet away as a whole and u can barely see the little dots we are our biggest critics but trust me if u get close enuff some1s bound to say whats that from or where u shooting heroin and i have bad anxiety already so im nervous to start but more nervous than ever with one week to go for me to for sure be sleaveless i mean right now theres no real reason to wear a long sleave shirt but ill stretch it till next tuesday then im just gonna face my shame i only have myself to blame so i cant have some pitty party like someone forced a needle in my arm i actually have never told any1 in person only threw this thread and another no1 knows ive just lied and lied and now im dissapointed that for some reason these dots wont leave and theyre could be a reason and that could be its time to face some embarasement and come clean to every1 theyre old i can have any doc confirm that and just tell every1 i was ashamed and hoped no1 would find out
 
I found that Mederma worked well, but the guy above me is right. 2 months really isn't that long as far as scars are considered (it's a huge accomplishment though in regards to staying off the needle, big congrats on that btw).

I quit using heroin a year ago to this day (woo go me :D ), and my scars are still there if you look hard enough (generally after a hard workout or under fluorescent lights). It took probably 3 or 4 months before I was brave enough to go outside with a short sleeve shirt on, but these days I don't think twice about it.

Give it more time, they will go away eventually.
 
The question I'm gonna bring up is do you think it's the "track marks" (which red dots are not) or a very high level of insecurity? The way you're making it out to be seems like it's less noticeable than a zit, plus in places no one looks at. If they're just tiny red dots, there could be plenty of other explanations for that and I really doubt people would assume you were an IV user right off the bat. I can understand where you're coming from, I don't mean to sound callous. I was SO insecure for years over mine. Even if they stay for a while, you will eventually get over the shame, I promise. I have so many scars on my right arm from a suicide attempt and track marks all over my left, but I don't give a fucking shit anymore after years of this and go out and wear what I want. No one has even seemed like they ever noticed it. Attitude plays a surprisingly huge role in perception.

Sometimes a "who cares?" attitude is ideal in social situations.
 
Most people would never think track marks or IV drug use is the cause. Hell when i was banging dilaudid and morphine id walk around in short sleves and noone noticed. Well until i fucked my arms for abit due to shooting morphine with large guage needles. I shot with a 23 guage one time or 22 and holy fuck that looked brutal. But it's been well over a month since i IVed and im all healed up with no marks besides a scar that can be easily explained by the many blood tests ive gotten over the years.

Seriously the most fucked up my arm ever looked was after getting blood drawn. Jeez :p
 
Badge of honor if you still alive and kicking imo man. Track marks are a reminder and I find them beautiful. Kind of like them cutting scars. I hope that isnt taken the wrong way. I don't think either are to be glorified, but for those who surived all that stuff, Bravo!

Great attitude to have Draigan!

I'm most of all surprised a doctor has never noticed them on me. Then, you think about how little they actually have to practice medicine, and you're not surprised after factor that in.

I find triple antibiotic ointment does the most help to recovering veins.
 
I would use triple antibiotic ointment on fresh marks and that works really well (like that night before you go to bed).

As for old scars....mederma is def. the best choice. It works really well on making old scars completely or almost completely disappear to where no one would notice.

I usually tell the nurses when I have to have blood drawn that I was formerly an addict, because they can always tell. I'd rather just tell them beforehand and make sure I emphasize the "was" part of it, just to get it out of the way.

Last time the nurse was cool about it, she said she noticed I still have a lot of scar tissue even though my tracks are mostly faded. She did give me the "take care of yourself please" as I was leaving though, heh.

Yeah I would rather not tell them because it's none of their fucking business. None of my marks really look new, so I could obviously claim the same thing.

A lot of medical professionals in my area are just dumb as fuck. Like really, dumb as hell. I'm surprised anyone got certified to practice medicine in this state. :|

However, I vow never to visit a doctor ever again as long as I live in this state. I am simply going to have to go to psychiatrists every time I need medicine.
 
I have some marks in the crook of my arm and on the backs of my hands from having IVs at the hospital and from getting blood drawn because my veins are so tiny that I've had nurses blow out my veins 4 or 5 times in one sitting trying to draw blood. I'm extremely pale and scar easily. I can only think of a couple times anyone has asked about them though.........I guess the key is to try not to call attention to them by being too nervous or self-conscious. Have you looked into that special make-up that is for covering up scar tissue and stuff? Some of the companies that make stage makeup offer it. I used to be a ballet dancer and I remember some of the other dancers using it to cover up acne scars or tattoos. It is made just for that purpose. I wear a lot of three quarter length shirts in the summer that stop right below the elbow because I'm not allowed to have visible tattoos at work so maybe that would help too.
 
hi there eye - i skipped through most responses so hopefully i am not repeating anyone. keep in mind - 2 months is nothing in terms of skin repair, esp after drug use. it took one year for my surgical scars to somewhat "settle" at a color, and they actually are still changing almost two years later. one of them was infected as well so i had that issue too.

i have never iv'd anything nor have i even seen track marks up close really, but i work in the developmental cosmetics/skincare industry and think i can help u.

have u ever heard of bio oil? it is available at all the major drug chain stores and it is a little pricey, 15-20 dollars per bottle i believe. it will last a long time though and it WORKS.

i had major surgery a ways back on my feet and this stuff faded the scars better than anything else i tried - vitamin e oil, etc. im not even really sure whats in it but i had heard about it at industry events many times and decided to try.

you can also look into Yu Be cream which is from japan, i order it online but ive seen it in some beauty supply stores in the northeast US. its not anything crazy special but it is a "cult" type product that for many people improves skin condition dramatically, ive been using it for years.

forget any ingestible pills (hair skin nails type), and just eat well/stay hydrated. if you are a smoker i would also suggest quitting as i saw a marked increase in the rate of scar fading within a week or two of quitting cigarettes. also remember though that the majority of skin recovery was occuring while you were still using, and that sets you up for some irrepairable damage unfortunately. also i think the soft/thin nature of the skin in the inside arm area is particularly delicate and scars will never completely disappear.

good luck - let me know how it works if you try it, as it would be helpful for me to know for my line of work.

one more thing - its impossible to predict the effect tanning will have on your scars based on your skin type. but PLEASE trust me on this, DO NOT tan YET, in a year or two your tissues will have settled, but if you do it right now you could risk darkening them, and might never be able to get rid of it. for the time being, use self tanner and avoid the marks - put vaseline on them first with a q tip or something, so that way your natural skin darkens and will be closer to the scar color. overall i think a tan might draw more attention to your skin in general.....
