Not sure where to post this since it seems the legal threads are closed. But please if you have any knowledge on this subject, try to help to the best of your ability.

There's this girl named Penelope. Her and her boyfriend had decided that they wanted to try meth for the first time. Boy, did they enjoy it! However, the idea of going through a dealer and possibly being ripped off just didn't sound promising to them. So they ignorantly decided to make meth without the proper equipment and knowledge to do so. Well just as one would expect, Penelope and her boyfriend made a BIG mess. It exploded once. They quickly tried to fix their mistake only to have it explode twice more and burn through the carpet as well as onto her boyfriend's arms. The fire alarm went off and the neighbors quickly showed up to make sure everything was okay.

Well Penelope's boyfriend wasn't the brightest crayon in the box and he blabbed to the neighbor EXACTLY what they had been up to, believing the friendly guy could keep a secret. Like any good citizen, the neighbor immediately phoned the police. Penelope and her boyfriend raced to clean up their mess and hide all evidence. She demanded that he take her home before the police showed up and he demanded she take the chemically dripping backpack filled with the evidence and hide it while the police were there.

Penelope obviously didn't think this through and agreed. She later threw the backpack into a gas station dumpster.

Now she's worried. What trouble will the two get into? Penelope purchased the sudafed (only one box). While her boyfriend was being interrogated, he claimed Penelope was sleeping when the fire alarm went off and she freaked out upon learning what he did and left.

How much trouble can Penelope get into if the boyfriend sticks with the story of her sleeping and not knowing anything? Will she be blamed for simply being present in the house?
And if the boyfriend squeals that she purchased an ingredient, how much trouble could she get into for that?
And what about her boyfriend, is he facing jail time?

Please, serious and helpful answers only.

Most likely, the bf won't stick to the story and Penelope will get hit with manufacturing....also, didn't the neighbor see Penelope? If not and if the bf takes the fall then I guess she could be in the clear but the bf will most definitely go to jail. No offense but this is a lot of common sense..

"He" dug his own grave.
He will likely get hit with manufacturing, she may as well; testing for residue from methamphetamine manufacturing could easily be done, especially since it exploded twice.
There would be traces of it everywhere

No offense, OP, but is it really that smart to put up a thread about how your friend Penelope and her boyfriend are trying to outsmart the cops when the case is still going on? She might get off, but I doubt it...look at the facts...they're boyfriend and girlfriend...if the boyfriend is manufacturing meth in the home, and there are two meth-related explosions, and the boyfriend has burns on his arm, are you really trying to tell me that the girlfriend wouldn't have heard something or at least known what was happening with her boyfriend???? I wouldn't buy that story if I was a detective.
