Im a 26 yr old female and I really need help, I have noone to talk to and want my life back, I used to be a normal girl with a normal life. please read and reply ASAP if you can help...

Here is my quick story if anyone can help:
Roughly in June 2012, me and my boyfriend started doing Perk 30's for fun. Anywhere from 1-3 a day. With hardly any breaks, maybe 1-5 days and when it got hard, used Suboxone.
About Sept/Oct we then went to brown heroin because of availability and cost, until now.
Lately its just been 1 bag a day all at once. (.3-.4 in a bag) snorted. Most i've done is 2 bags a day. With 1-3 days without but using Suboxone in between.
I usually go into light/moderate withdrawal in 24 hours. Experiencing aches/cold sweats/slight stomach aches/sometimes throwing up..and then few more hours usually experience runny nose and RLS. that's as far as I've gone into W/D (fixing with sub or more opiates)

I have 1.5 Suboxone strips left and am wondering, considering my story/drug history, should i quit cold turkey or do a quick taper? And what should i expect for my suffering. Any tips/experience of any kind with my situation will be helpful, I have no one to talk to (my boyfriend is in jail for probation issues, and my family and friends don't know about my addiction and i'd like to keep it that way)

Please help if you can. Thank you in advance!

Just to let you know, this thread belongs in +Sober Living and it will most likely be moved.

You have your head in the right place, darling. As long as your heart is there, you can get through this.

One bag a day, even if it's fire, is a pretty low level habit. I mean that as a really good thing. There's some variables(your size, how your body handles opiates, strength of product, etc) but still.... I'd say you're most definitely at the "Get out while you can" stage.
If you've got the Sub, might as well do a quick taper with its help.
How you're gonna feel depends on how you do it(obviously.) You could do your daily bag, then 3/4's a bag for a day or 2 or 3, 1/2, 1/4 and then switch to the Sub.
Start with 3mgs, 3mgs, 2mgs, 2mgs, 1mg, 1mg, and off. Maybe stretch the Sub out more, depending on how much it usually takes to get you straight.
In your spot, that's just about what I would do. Adjusting here and there based upon how I felt.
I wouldn't expect that you'd feel like death, going that way. When you fully drop off the Sub, you might feel kinda lethargic, depressed, generally shitty.
But, as far as any kind of full-on WD? I wouldn't think it would be too bad.

That's my advice. As far as experience, I've kicked too many times to count.
Somebody else got a better schedule, please put forth.

Your habit is pretty small, so your withdrawal symptoms wont be that severe in the grand scheme of things. However, I know it still sucks and that it's painful for you.

That being said, doing a taper is always preferable to going cold turkey if you really can't bear the withdrawals, as it will make it much less severe.

One such taper schedule you could use could look like:

Day 1: 4mg
Day 2: 2mg
Day 3: 1mg
Day 4:.5mg
Day 5:.25mg
Day 6:.25mg
Day 7: .125mg
Day 8: Nothing

This is a fairly typical 7 day taper and the 2 day in a row dose of .25mg's will help prepare you for the jump at .125mg's, which is a very good place to hop off.

Now, this won't be painless.. as you'll still feel sort of crappy coming off the subs but it will be infinitely better than just going cold turkey. For the next week or two, you need to tough it out, it'll be like having a little cold. No big deal. You can use OTC meds to deal with the remaining minor symptoms.

The key is staying clean and not picking up another habit after you detox though.

Take my word for it, the withdrawals get worse and worse the longer you use for and the more often you go back and forth. In a few years, when your habit skyrockets, and your kicks become harder, the withdrawals you feel now will be laughable to what you'll go through.

Use that as motivation to kick this shit and never start back up again.

Thank you everyone. I took 2mg around 10am today and it took about an hour to kick in but i still feel ok, once in a while getting cold/hot sweats and have a headache and that's it for the physical symptoms.
I'm not depressed but i defiantly have cravings. Whenever i think of money i think of getting high, but then i snap myself out of it when i realize what i was thinking and say "no way, you cant" and then back and forth the voices in my head are arguing.
Im worried too, that I wont complete this. every time I got high (just like everyone else) i say this is the last time, its not even worth it cause i wasn't really getting "high" anymore anyways, only once in a while. but the entire thing became a ritual. just from hearing my dealers Spanish accent on the phone "hey mama", to getting that evil stuff up my nose. I just need to keep my head straight, i know people have gone thru much worse.
