I've been on suboxone for little over 3yrs, I tapered down to 1 mg a day,,, and took my last mg tonight, so I know ill be in wd sometime Saturday night,,,,, I have scripts for clonidine.
.1mg, lyrica 150mg.. zanaflex 4mg,, to help with wd,, I have been in wd many times in the past 5yrs, and every time I end up in the ER, because I get restless legs and arms something horrible! What can I do or take to help with the restless legs and arms!?

I've read lyrica in high doses helps. Is this true? How much? Also how much clonidine can I take, I've been taking .2mg at night past 4 days, and the lyrica is 150mg. 2x a day, and 2 zanaflex 4mg at night,

Hi op, what I can advice is to exercise daily for at least half an hour. Walking should be good and don't strain yourself by doing too much exercise. Also too, drink lots of water throughout the day. Dont just drink water like you're gulping you have to continously do it throughout the day. Another thing that might help is to change your sleeping patterns as this may improve the condition. Avoid caffeine and also cigarettes as much as possible.

Cigarettes!? Shit I smoke like a freight train!!,, never heard that,,
Yea my wife takes good care of me, and we have two boys,,, ill have the weekend to be miserable and do nothing, but I'll have to work during the week, I'm a painter, I usually work 6hr days,
I'm just terrified of the restless legs a/does arms, i get it bad, like I want to cut them off

I also have 600 mg gabapentin and baclofen,,I'm just not sure what of all my meds and how much to take

Beat your dick like it owes you money! Seriously tho... During wds masturbation is a great way to pass the time that that seems to go by slower the worse you feel! Right now IMO taking other types of meds is not how your body and brain will heal itself...some drugs will actually make it worse I.e. Diphenhydramine etc....

Hopefully it want come to that and my wife will be able to take care of me! Lol, as far as the other meds, I have to take my lyrica, I have sciatica, if I can keep my restless legs and arm's under control, I can deal with all the other wd symptoms,, I feel like I'm going crazy when the restlessness kicks in, so I'm looking for the magic supplement to keep it to a minimum, I've read so much about different approaches for controlling restlessness, I don't get the runs and throwing up sick, just insomnia and restlessness

Hey Edge and welcome to Blue Light. I am not a doctor and this dose should be approved by one. When I used the clonidine I dosed it every four hours. The dose for opiate withdrawal from the Tarascon Pocket Parmacopoeia is "0.1 to 0.2 PO q 4 h tapering off days 4 to 10" or .1 to .2 orally every four hours and then tapper down starting day four. Keep at it=D

As Maya said exercise will help allot but i wouldn't start that until you are through the acutes as exercise can increase the adrenal response and this is the very response you are trying to limit with the clonidine.

Its been about 34 hours since I took my last dose of bupe,,, the restlessness has set in, mainly left arm,, I'm taking clonidine .2mg, every 4hrs, lyrica 150mg, zanaflex 4mg x2,,,, multi vitamin,, I didn't sleep last night, I would nod off for around an hour or so cause of the meds and some good weed,, should I try something else or am I doing right?I want to cut my arm off I can't keep it still

Hey bud, thinking about you hope you're hanging in there :) Things will start getting easier soon, you're almost there!

At around 52hrs severe Restless arms I cannot get them under control anyone have any suggestions

also...if you are having digestive issues, immodium (loperamide) is an opioid that does not cross the blood/brain barrier, and therefore shouldn't affect recovery...It won't help the restless legs/arms...but IMO during withdraws, tackling the stomach cramps and GI hyperactivity is quite a welcome relief...I've struggled with opiates a lot when I was younger...It took me moving from a large city, to the rural rocky mtns to have any bit of success...now, I smoke pot every day...I find it to have medicinal properties in that it helps me manage my addictive personality with relatively few health hazards...

I ended up in the hospital Wednesday , my restless legs and arms got the best of me, my wife called my primary dr and he called in some klonopin for me, I was at the ER for 6hrs, my BP was 66/44 and pulse was never above 55, believe it or not they were all very nice and helpful, the had to put 4 bags of fluid in me, bc I was so dehydrated, I've yet tosleep more than an hour or two, I am freezing cold, I am thru the acute wd's., now my stomach is all screwed up, and I'm not eating, I have had a couple banana milkshakes, and that sure didn't help my ass but sure were good, I'm so proud of myself as I could have gotten morphine or dilaudid, I told them hell know, to loaded me up with fluids and send me home,,, they wrote me More. Clonidine and klonopin. And I go to my primary Dr. today at 4:15 I'm constantly. Tired I could early use an IM. I would love to exchange phone # with someone that been clean off opiates for a while,,, Holler at me anytime it's not like I've been sleeping

Quick note since you seem to be doing somewhat better. I saw someone suggest taking loperamide to relieve any GI issues. Do not take any loperamide! It is an opiate, it does cross the BBB (in minuscule amounts), & will set you back in your recovery. A lot people do not realize how many opiate receptors are in our GI tracts. It may not completely take you out of WD but it will prolong it. Would hate to see someone prolong their suffering due to misinformation.

No worries I went to my doctor today and he hook me up with everything that I needed to get through this, Everything is going pretty well right now I do not have any energy I did finally eat I still haven't slept in 7 days
