Hey everybody, I've been visiting alot, but just joined today. I'm 23 days clean from Methadone (cold turkey) My withdrawals haven't gotten much better. I'm committed to this & have made it this far, I'm not giving up now, but has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone help me to understand what's happening? Thank You ☔

I don't have any advice, as Im not familiar with methadone...but I was wondering why the title is "Please Don't Help?".

Hi, Welcome to Bluelight ! !
Congrats on quitting methadone. I took it briefly to come off heroin… Are you taking anything to ease the suffering, like vitamins or antioxidants? I know you mentioned cold turkey, that must be rough.

Here is the Methadone Mega Thread and FAQ v 2.0 as well as the The Opioid Withdrawal Megathread and FAQ. Would you like me to move your post to a recovery section? The dark side or sober living? You might receive some more support there. Please feel free to ask me any questions. Great to have you here! :)

I'm sorry it's supposed to say "please help " lol I hope that it doesn't make ppl ignore me. Thank you for the reply. I've been visiting for a long time, but finally joined yesterday, I know I made a wise decision.:)

I quit methadone and benzodiazepines 6 months ago. Your physical withdraws will soon be over, although restlessness may still be a problem eventually.
Perhaps on its way down, the first month is the worst and the 2nd and 3rd week was really bad for me.
It may take more than a month but you´ll be able to manage it anytime now, physically speaking.
I learned that the physical pain is not the worst part reason for which I strongly suggest you seek for medical advice/assistance as you will need some medicines to help you go through this. It´s hard, but possible.
It took me a long time to start exercising and recently I´ve been trying to do whatever makes me happy.

Find a hobby, try to volunteer as this will take your mind off of yourself. And keep busy. No matter what you do, just do not over think your issues or believe in those that may say it´s too difficult to accomplish. All of my worst feelings got better when I thought I was in a dead end.
If you need to PM me to get more details, feel free to contact me.
Once if you´ve achieve this, you´ll see how strong you are. Believe in yourself and in yours instincts
Don´t look back and good luck!! You can do this!
If I did you certainly can.
Best of all,
Erik
