Pleasant goosebumps.

Well, im not shure it's the right forum, but i just was thinking, which neurotransmitter is responsible for this rush of pleasant goosebumps when you're excited by something, like some words in some movie, etc; sometimes when you sneeze...
is it adrenaline, or dopamine? what do you think?
i started to take amitriptyline for depression a while ago which is a NE & DA reuptake inhibitor & since then i use to get goosebumps more often & stronger what is btw a cool fact!!%) :)
So somebody knows is it NE or DA that makes this rushes??
 
well, my guess would be DA, but only because coke and speed always give me the bumps, and nothing serotinergic does.

anyone know of a pure NE reuptake inhibitor?

Reboxetine and Atomoxetine (though IIRC the former is also a nicotinic antagonist). The tricyclic desipramine is also rather selective for NE, but has some of the tricyclic side effects (antihistaminic etc.)
 
Isn't Atomoxetine aka strattera? I didn' t know about the nicotinic effects. Being that it's an antagonist (depending how strongly) how well does it block nicotines effects?
 
I always thought it was endorphins or sumthing, i'm not very experienced with opiates they tend to make me either feel crappy, uncomfortable or feel nothing at all. I get goos bumps alot when my nerves are experiencing sum sort of very minor trauma like sitting in sertain unatural positions, hi temp changes, and like u said sneezing, but mostly being in the "wrong" positions
 
Adrenaline rushes give you goosebumps - i'd think i was mostly NE mediated.
 
@Ham-milton: Yes, Strattera is atomoxetine, but it is reboxetine that has some nicotinic antagonist properties (though it only seems to block a specific subtype - for details see here)
 
During Opiate withdrawal, I get these goosebumps caused by emotions everytime.
Usually I have to listen to a music or a movie that gives me strong emotion to get these goosebumps; but during Opiate withdrawal, I only have to watch the sky and find it beautiful and I burst in tears and have these goosbumps.....
