so me and my good friend here have a plant that is ready to be picked. ive heard of people harvesting weed plants and then budding them again but i dont have very much knowledge on it, how should we go about this?

What you're looking to do is called revegging. I'm assuming you're doing this indoors because it's way too early to harvest outside - but if you are outside this won't work because the days are becoming shorter. To reveg a plant, harvest the bulk of it, leaving say 4 of the lowest branches with the popcorn buds and sugar leaves intact. You can cut the rest above those branches, and you don't need to have any fan leaves left, it will grow new ones. If you're growing in a medium that will allow it like soil or hydroton you probably want to trim the root mass down to something about the size of a softball - the plant doesn't need that size root mass anymore, and the roots may otherwise get out of hand as it grows again. Now repot or replace the medium if possible, stick it back under 20/4 or whatever you prefer to veg at and leave it there for 2-4 weeks or whatever your normal veg cycle is. If you normally go straight to flower give it at least 2 weeks for regrowth first though. Then flower as normal.

You should end up with another healthy plant. Be warned though the process that the plant goes through to reveg tends to create some mutant looking plants while it is reverting - 3 leaves instead of 5 is common, extra bushiness or other oddities. It won't effect yield or potency though, and by the time the buds are really taking off it should have gone back to looking pretty normal again.

Hope that helps.

that is exactly what i was looking for thanks. we have kindof a flimsy plant and the branches arent to thick but the yield is still good. is it safe to get rid of all the branches above the popcorn buds? or should we leave them so the fan leaves can absorb more light

You want to leave as little as possible to allow for new growth while not killing it - that's where the lowest 4 branches come in. I'd snip the main stem right above them. A lot of times the plant would regrow even if you snipped the stem without any branches buds or leaves but you don't want to chance it is my theory. I might have lowballed you on the 2-4 weeks in veg, they can take the process kind of hard, 4-8 weeks may leave you with a more vigorous plant. It's been a long time since I've done it, so your mileage may vary. Watch out for some hermies on the lowest branches that you left on after you go back into flower - just pick them off when you see them, it shouldn't happen to the rest of the plant. I prefer to run from clone, but revegging definitely works.

we can figure out how long to grow it just by checkin on it as it grows but thanks for all the help maybe ill put some pictures up its like porno :)

Well good luck with it, glad you have a female, I have a really good looking plant atm, but I cannot tell its sex, and the other two seedlings need transplanted desperately to better soil but I'm too lazy and haven't got around to it.

Gonna definately transplant Tuesday.

I think the plant just dies, its inevitable I guess, that's why people make clones and have to start over again.

That's one of the reasons to clone a plant but not the reason. And yes, eventually all living things must die, cannabis is no exception, but I've personally seen people keep mother plants alive for years on end. They can be quite durable actually.
