Hello, I'm growing a plant and right now it is a baby and one of it's leafs has some white on it, as if someone dabbed a little paint brush of white on it. This is my first plant and could somebody please help me? To water it I've been letting the water sit out in a big jug overnight so the bacteria will die.

sounds like mites. can't really be sure without a picture, tho. get a moist paper towel and see if they wipe off. check on the undersides of the leaves as well.

To water it I've been letting the water sit out in a big jug overnight so the bacteria will die.

how would letting it sit out kill bacteria? unless it was in the sun or under a uv light. how about use potable water that is free of most bacteria? I.E. your sink.

i would agree try wiping the white spot to further determine if its bugs, mold, maybe some other type of damage. are the lights close? it could be a burn from the light.
you could just cut off the affected area to be safe.

It's growing outdoors. Also I do get my water from my sink, but there is bacteria in there, i'm pretty sure letting it sit overnight kills some of the bacteria. I just went and watered it but I noticed the white wasn't even there anymore barely, but the tiny bit that remained would not wipe off with toilet paper

so do you drink the water out of your sink? or do you let it sit for a few days? i dont think marijuana plants are too sensitive to bacteria in the water.
i mean manure based fertillizer is so packed with bacteria, to think that what comes out of your sink could harm a plant, you may want to think twice about drinking that shit.

I've heard more than a few instances of professional growers/farmers recommending that if using tap water, leave it out overnight to release chloramine gas.

Winner, sometimes plants just create little markings on their foliage, like humans have moles. As long as it doesn't get out of control, or spread rapidly, you'll be good.

I've had marks like that on occasion, probably like weezy said, nothing to worry about unless it spreads. I recommend trying to start them inside under flouros for a couple of weeks until they harden off. Direct sunlight is kinda hard on a new seedling

well I dunno, if this one doesn't work out i might just get a clone that is a female for sure from a friend and grow it indoors. But eh, thanks guys. the white isn't spreading, but now there is a little black mark on one of the leaves, hope it isn't a problem :P

If you notice anymore spotting that is white-ish or yellow/brown, it is most likely spider mites. These can easily be identified with a magnifying loupe by looking on the underside of the leaves. You will also start to notice like a really thin spider-like silk starting to appear on the leaves kinda pulling them down. They can be treated with neem oil to get rid of em.

quit being so paranoid, it sounds like mold/fungus. Check it to see & if it use make a formula using house hold products & scrub that bitches leaaf harrdd without ripping it.

Ok, the white specs have not spread and they are only on that one leaf which is at the bottom of the plant, there is a few leaves with yellow tint where the "veins" are, you know where theres a dent in the leaf? and none are really drooping. like not badly, but gravity does push them down a little bit
