pipe shattered.. a long with my heart :[

OH yeah I feel your pain brother. I have this great little pipe and I broke the damn thing tapping it out in the ashtray. I thought it was unbreakable, wasn't sold to as such but I've seen lots of similar pipes (really , really similar),about half of which are unbreakable so I assumed.

The good news is the thick coating of resiny bits inside, mmmmm that's gonna get me baked.


My boyf said he would see about gluing it, I think it will be fine.

ive had 3 bowls and a bong bust on me. 1st bowl one slid down a bowl shaped sink and cracked in half glued it back together but it eventually broke again.

the bong and that got shattered to pieces because parents found it.

the 2nd bowl fell outta my sweatshirt pocket as i was taking a piss while shit faced. it fell into the toilet of piss.

3rd bowl broke cus me and a friend were fucking around and i had my hand in my pocket which had my bowl in it and he pushed me and in order to not fall over i had to pull my hand out and the bowl cam with it crashing to the floor.

I am now on my 5th piece which is a chillum. after all of those things breaking for stupid reasons i dont think thats a sign i should stop smoking i think its just shitty luck, which is weird cus i have never broken anyone else's piece. so in total damages money wise its cost me about 120$ so now try not to spend over 20$ on any piece i buy.

ya it sucks that they break but stoners are supposed to be crafty, you should always know how to roll that blunt or make that gravity bong.
 
My $200 bong, a.k.a. the love of my life, was stored at a friend's apartment because I cannot store it in my house. Many memories and upgrades are associated with this particular piece, and three days ago the police raided my friend's apartment and confiscated The Green Lantern.

I'm still mourning.

its kind of funny when your at a party and you hear glass shatter near a group of people smoking.... everyone that smokes any decent amount is thinking a pipe broke.... turns out to have been a beer bottle or something.... unless it was a pipe then all of the smokers act like a friend just died while everyone else is like "i dont get it, its just a pipe"....

i have been lucky to have no pipes of mine break....

i have had 2 confiscated by parents, their fates have been undetermined... i would rather not know if they were broken or not....

i wish they had just told me to get rid of them, good bong that went before their time, i have friends who would have loved them.... .

hey it hurt me enough to hear my mom flushing 1 very beautiful gram kush nug down the toilet....

Not as bad as when my friend got caught with like 3/4 of an ounce.... told his parents he just keeps a lot for personal use, luckily he didnt get caught 2 days before when he had a qp in his room....but he had to flush all that he was caught with and his parents drug tested him....
 
reminds me of my first glass... this thing was tuff. dropped a couple times and still goin. had it for a couple yrs.

i think we get attched because of the good times we had with em.

one day my buddy went out to the car to get it and when he came in... he looked liek he was gonna cry and was just like... "omg, ur gonna hate me" it was a sad moment.
 
I have seriously broken numerous pipes in this exact scenario.

On the lap.. forgot about it.. got out of the car.. and crack!

.. same thing with phones though.
 
I was smoking in my basement one time with a buddy of mine and while he was in the bathroom, I nudged the table and just watched, dumbstruck, as his pipe fell (as you said, slo-mo) to the floor and shattered. He didn't hear it break, but he sure as hell heard me shout "FUCK!"
Luckily, he's one of them spiritual stoners and, while the rest of the evening was funeral mode, he didn't blame me and said that it just must have been the pipe's time... RIP, Twister.

I broke one other pipe, but it was one I hadn't had long enough to really grow attached to. I opened my desk drawer too quick and pulled the whole drawer out, spilling all of its contents onto the floor of my dorm room. Fucking thing burst into a million pieces... a few days later, I really regretted not scraping the bones for resin, but in retrospect, I think I still would have felt a bit ghoulish.
 
I know glass is better, but I've dropped my pipe sooooo many times I'm glad I chose stainless steel... And I can get all sentimental with it if I want to, it's probably going to last longer than me if I don't lose it.
 
Glass pipe + stoned person = accident with pipe.....sooner or later

It's almost a given. If you love pipes, (I never did) then you should always have a spare one waiting to comfort you on your loss. Either that, or invest in a thick, tough pipe.

My condolences on your loss. I've broken a few bongs in the past and it's always a miserable feeling. You just freeze for a moment, hoping that it didn't just happen. Then you look down at the bits and pieces and confirm it. I don't miss those moments.
 
Had a plastic bong, not expensive but good, in the shape of an acoustic guitar. It had been good to me and had plenty of good smokes from it.
We were at a house part and my mate had it in his hands. He dropped it, not even from a great height, and it cracked into a few pieces.. unfixable..
Wasn't too bothered as there's always buckets ;)
 
After two years of smoking, I've given away or broken a few pieces here or there. My first pipe I wound up leaving at a friend's apartment and just letting them keep it. The next two after that were similarly small pipes that I managed to break not too long after I bought them. I also have a mediocre glass bong that I lent to my old roommate on reserve.

Now I have a sturdy fat-bellied pipe with an appropriately huge bowl and a thick-glassed bat. Both have fallen victim to my clumsiness, but thankfully, they're quite durable.
