Pipe info/help...

I used search and couldn't come up with a lot of stuff I was looking for (I apologize, though, if I just didn't look hard enough), but I had a lot of questions relating to pipes with pot...

I never smoke (or do any drugs for that matter), so bear with me here:

- I went to go buy a pipe today, and... after making sure I knew some stuff about them, I checked out a smoke shop. I noticed a corn cob pipe, and also noticed it didn't have a hole to clear the chamber out - I was going for the cheapest one I could find, by the way. My question here is, do I need to have a hole in the pipe for mj? Or do I even need to worry about it? Also, can I even use a corn cob pipe for pot? I know nothing about this.

- I also saw a ~$6 wooden pipe version, also with no hole, would that be better/work?

- I've never packed a pipe, though I've looked info on how to do it up, any advise there would be good.

- Also, never smoked from one... so I don't even know how. The person I'm going with doesn't know either.

Basically everything I need to know about buying/using/maintaining my pipe in one consolidated post. :P



Sorry for sounding like an idiot here, but I figured this would be the best place to ask. Also, if you know of any good links, throw 'em at me... and forgive me for being useless. :)
 
Get a pipe made for smoking weed, glass pipes are pretty cheap online, you could probably buy one on the street, or at a headshop.

I've had two bowls, one I bought from a friend, and another he gave me as a replacement for writing him an essay in my english class.
 
I live in a small town, so no street sellers... just like two smoke shops in town.

and online isn't fast enough. >.< gonna be there tomorrow.
 
I remember smoking outta those corn cob pipes. I smoked a gram to myself and didn't even feel high. At first I blamed it on the weed, then I smoked half a gram in a little doobie of the same stuff and I got high. Stupid pipe.
 
if you want a good cheap pipe for smoking dro, just get a lil glass spoon pipe (plus they usually have a carb) should only cost you like $15-$25 bucks.
 
Just get a small glass bowl, with or without a carb (hole), doesn't really matter when your trying to just pick up something cheap.

Should only cost 10-20 bucks at a local head-shop and will be well worth the money.
 
Also, why are you looking for a bowl if you don't smoke? Trying weed for the first time?
 
When we first started, we made little bongs out of water bottles... It was pretty cool actually.

I'm sure you can find instructions online.

When you pick apart your weed, take out all the seeds and stems, then put the rest into the bowl, picked apart (but not ground up!). Light on fire, inhale, enjoy. It takes a little while to get used to inhaling, you might have trouble you first few times.
 
^ Yeah, I ended up using a joint, and, apparently, didn't inhale right. I mean, I thought I was inhaling right, but 6(ish) hits didn't get me high at all... maybe a little, if not placebo. I guess my eyes were really bloodshot.

Whatever... I'll try it again later.

But I picked up a cool glass pipe, so I'll use that instead of a joint next time. Do I need to buy a smoke screen or whatever? I think I read someone said they use the stems as a screen?
 
^Ew ew ew. Stems are a screen? Goddamn. No, just pick it apart and put it in there, no need for a screen, but a rush will help.

A good trick (the way we teach everyone) is to fill your mouth with smoke, then open your mouth to see the smoke, and quickly inhale like you are taking a breath.

If that doesn't work, trying breathing in through a straw, then do it for the weed. You'll know you hit it right when you cough out your lung.
 
hoopyfrood, does the pipe you bought have a little hole on the side in addition to the place where you put the weed? If it does, it has a carb...in order to use it: pack bowl with weed, cover carb hole with finger while lighting the bowl and inhaling, then remove finger from the carb to get the hit.

yeah I inhaled it -like I would a straw, then held it in my lungs for a few seconds, and exhaled a bunch of smoke. I coughed a little, but not much. So i'unno...

maybe it was schwag, but I probably just suck at it. I'll use the pipe next time.
 
Its not strange at to not get high the first time, most people it takes 2-4 times. For me it took even more!
 
I never bought that myth. Noobs just cant smoke properly and dont know what they are looking for. Remember most people who try weed are just young kids who havnt tried anything and dont know anything.

'Yeah the first time i drank, i drank a 2 6 and i didnt even get drunk!.. Oh your not suppose to throw up after every shot? damn...'

^Thats how i see it. Retarded. Get a 10-20$ plastic bong. Way better than any pipe and you wont have a choice. You will be fried. After all how could you not inhale a bong rip?

Those are both good ways, but the way my cousin taught my little cousin/her little brother was by pinching his nose shut with one hand, lighting the bowl with her other and telling him when to start slowly inhaling, when to take his finger off the shotgun/carb and she took the bowl away from him mid-burn before he took too big of a hit and killed his lungs.

After two times being walked through it we had popped a family member's smoking cherry and he didn't blow the bud out of the bowl a single time.

Gotta be the best way to learn how to smoke. Granted, though, not everybody has someone willing to walk them through smoking with step-by-step instructions like that.
