There is no reason to dissolve a Klonopin under your tongue.

It's a popular misconception that all pills can be ingested anyway you want them to be. Pills are designed to be orally active ONLY. The pill is not designed to be absorbed by the buccal tissue under your tongue and therefore, none of the Clonazepam is absorbed into your body when the pill is dissolved under your tongue. If you get any effects from it; it's entirely placebo.

Also, in the case of Clonazepam specifically - it's bioavailability is exactly the same, no matter what route you take it. You will not increase it's effects by snorting and will only decrease it's effects by dissolving it under your tongue.

oh yea

Benzos oral ba is like 98%..

Edit:
Snorting pills imo is some fiend shit....People look at me funny because I actually take them as designed ( for recreation of course ). I enjoy the slow come up and the increased duration it gives over sniffing

Where have you heard this? Some patients are prescribed clonazepam to be taken sublingually, and the pills have a decent taste to them possibly for that reason. They still have a very high BA sublingually (I believe it's the same as oral) but has a faster onset that way. The BA for snorting it is a lot lower, so I don't get why you are saying the BA is the same no matter the ROA.

Also, there are many other pills that are designed to be both orally and sublingually active (suboxone anyone?), so to say that they are orally active only is completely false.

Just about all of this post is incorrect.

This means the pills are supposed to be dissolved under the tongue and therefore are designed to be absorbed by the buccal tissue. If the pill isn't specifically designed for buccal absorption - dissolving it under the tongue will do nothing. The OP said that the pill was for oral administration. Since the Clonazepam formulation in the oral form isn't formulated to be absorbed by buccal tissue - it will not be absorbed.

Also the bioavailability for Clonazepam specifically, is the same for orally administration, and insufflation. Snorting Clonazepam won't give you a better "peek" and is, therefore, unnecessary. Also, if taken orally, the absorption of the drug is slower, but will therefore, last much longer.

That's not true, that a drug won't work sublingually if it isn't specifically designed for that. It's the drug that is absorbed that way, so the formulation doesn't really matter, although some will be flavored or made to disintegrate faster if they are made for sublingual administration. The exception would be extended release pills or capsules, but any instant release pill would work sublingually, and then it depends on the BA to determine if it's worth it.

Snorting it is an uneducated thing to do.

SwampFox56 - It's a question of bioavailability. The wafers are designed to dissolve more quickly, but the active drug is still clonazepam. Sublingual is the next fastest way next to snorting, smoking, or injecting which they can't comfortably provide to patients, so the pharma companies make wafers to capitalize this ROA.

Only pills I crush up and do that with are oxys (for IV)...v8's and opana. I had some friends awhile back that would snort hydro's, methadone...all sorts of shit. I never could understand WHY...really fucking weird IMO.

SwampFox56,
i take klonopins sublingually, and i can tell you for sure it's not placebo, it hits you faster and stronger than taken orally. IDK, maybe the bioavailability in theory says other, but..i can say you for sure that 2mgs clonazepam taken sublingually, are more (saying more i mean stronger..), than 3mgs taken orally, as for the time that takes to hit, i think sublingually needs at least the half time. I think that a lot of people here can confirm it.

With no intention to be offensive, but i take klonopins for years, everyday, and since i try them sublingually, i never took them orally (except for some times, for "expiremental purposes", to confirm that sublingually is better than orally..). And it's not me, but the most people take k-pins sublingually. There are some threads about clonaz ROA here in bl, you can take a look..And as for snorting them, i think it's kind of a waste, it gives you a mint taste in your nostrils, but i don't think that it absorbed well..Of course, that's only my opinion..:).
Any-fuckin-way...:)
