Hey Everyone-
I love my ez-test kit! Never had a major problem with it (except the getting the liquid out - the droppers kinda suck)
Anyways - i tested a pill the other day, and i saw a typical MDXX reaction, but when the liquid first came out it turned a very very light orange (definately unlike the speed reaction) before turing purple. The pills were white with beige/orange specks in them.
So i continued and did a test with the phase1/2 reagents (Simons Reagent). The solution formed was also the same very very light orange. After addition of phase 2 the color remained the same color. I figure this pill has MDA in it (makes sence - the pill i have has been recently reported on both dancesafe and pillreports.com to be MDA)
So my question is - Could the binder affect the color of the solution before it reacts? I've never had that problem before.
Thanks
~Mateo~

"when the liquid first came out it turned a very very light orange"
Yes, when Marquis hits the scraping, you will see orange/brownish for 1/10 of a second and then it will go straight to purple (if it is MDXX).
"Could the binder affect the color of the solution before it reacts"
I guess it could but there should not be a reaction.
Did you also test this one with Robadope ?

aj what do you think causes the 'flash' of orange. We see it here too sometimes and its 'very' hard to see (ie you have to know what you are looking for and have optimum testing environment). So far we've thought 'well perhaps it has a weee bit of speed in it as well' (in aus we get wierd combos so its not really out of the question). In your experience is that flash of orange normal? If so what do you think causes it?

binder will in general not react with the liquid... the test reacts to a functional group on the ring of the molecule.. i don't think binders will have the same structure..
glucose is only a carbon chain...

Glucose is NOT a just a carbon chain.
Its actually a 6 carbon compound often found as a 6 membered ring with a C-O-C ether group - which is very similar to the methelyne group on MDMA. Glucose however does not change color (probably) because it is not a conjugated molecule and thus is colorless. It probably reacts a bit with the the sulfuric acid tho...
Just thought i'd let ya know
