Picking opium lettuce

So i found out what opium lettuce is and after seeing a few pictures im sure that i see it every where. I'm planning to wait till some grow in my backyard and harvesting them curing them etc.

Is that safe though? like anyone else have experience on picking wild lettuce?

yeah, i know that. I read that there was an alkaloid in the latex that was simmilar to opium. So I'll probably just steer clear of opium lettuce.

Opium lettuce is essentially useless as a recreational substance. The alkaloids are about as similar to opium as drinking white latex paint is to whole-fat milk.
