Phish concert results in spike in drug arrests

ASHEVILLE — A concert by rock band Phish at the Asheville Civic Center Tuesday night resulted in a spike in the number of drug arrests.
At least 13 people were arrested, and all or nearly all the charges were related to the concert, according to the Buncombe County Magistrate’s Office. Some also were charged with resisting arrest or assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The suspects hailed from as far away as California, New York and Florida, and the drugs they are alleged to have been selling or possessing include LSD, ecstasy, hallucinogen mushrooms and marijuana.
According to warrants served Tuesday night and this morning, the arrests include:
- P charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver 60 doses of LSD and eight doses of ecstasy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $100,500.
- Walter, of Fla., charged with possession of 3.5 grams of psilocybin and Adderall. His bond was set at $1,000.
- Oscar, 35, of Calif., charged with trafficking in more than 9,000 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. His bond was set at $125,000.
- Christopher, 27, of Calif., charged with trafficking in more than 100 grams of ecstasy, possession with intent to sell and deliver 50 grams of marijuana, 15.3 grams of psilocybin, 152 grams of ecstasy, 124 grams of Ketamine, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $85,500.
- Nathan , Colo., charged with possession with intent to sell an delivery five pills of methamphetamine and 34 grams of marijuana, and possession of one gram of ecstasy. His bond was set at $3,000.
- Justin , of Wash., charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver four doses of psilocybin and possession of one gram of ecstasy and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $5,000.
- Beau , 28, of Colo., charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver 1,095 grams of marijuana, possession of 3.7 grams of psilocybin, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and two counts of assaulting law enforcement officers. His bond was set at $8,000.
- John of N.Y., charged with possession of ecstasy and marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $3,500.
- Baily, Va., charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver 40 dosage units of LSD and possession of an open alcohol container in the passenger area of a vehicle, arrest warrants show. Her bond was set at $500.
- James, Ala., charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver 35 grams of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to keep drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, arrest warrants show. His bond was set at $1,500.
- Adam, of, N.J., charged with possession of three dosage units of LSD, possession of one dosage unit of ecstasy and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,000.
- Eric, , charged with selling 0.1 grams of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and deliver. He was released under a written promise to appear in court.
