Misc philosophical stand about drugs

Hello.

I think that drugs should be legal and cheap.

By drugs i mean alcohol too.

I think that it's up to every person to decide if he or she uses them or not.

I also think that laws should penalize heavily car accidents and such, caused by intoxication. That's to say: you are free to put in your body whatever you want but you must do it in a way that causes no harm to others.

I think governments should inform the public with accurate data about every substance. Not like that shameful terrorist "reefer madness" video.

Real scientific studies that correctly show the effects of every substance.

For the destructive ones, i think people (non users) are lacking compassion. (yes, not all drugs are destructive)

And i think that when people heavily use drugs, its because there is something in society so unbearable that people needs a permanent escape.

Greetings

I agree.
Too bad it's not likely that it'll happen, at least in our lifetime.

I'm sure this idea has been proposed and immediately rejected.

We live in a society where harming others isn't automatically against the law (sadly).

Either way, I wanted to say that this thread surely isn't Other Drugs material, and would likely belong better in Drug Culture, or Philosophy/Spirituality.
