Benzos Phenibut while on quetiapine

I was in a very dark place in 2010 and my psychiatrist put me on 700mg quetiapine, fast forward to April this year, I've managed to get down to 50mg of quetiapine and I was suffering some sleep disturbance. So, I bought some Phenibut, which worked great for sleep and made me feel super calm at the same time - which is how I became semi-addicted and got through 40 g in 3 months, never more than 1.5 g per day, and never more than 3-5 days a week. I eventually threw it in the bin and went cold turkey at the start of July (most people recommend tapering), spent a week in psychological hell and then bounced back to normal for 5-6 days before relapsing again.

Its been like that since - poor sleep, depressed, lack of interest in women, inconsistent gym and social routine, then I recover for a 4-5 days and start getting my shit together, I relapsed into negative state again this week. People usually report feeling ok after 7-14 days max and i'm still suffering from withdrawal.

I've also had to put up with some heavy DIY noise coming from another apartment in my block which is being refurbished for the past 3 weeks or so. This is the last thing I needed after stopping phenibut. This is definitely contributing to my difficulties; excessive, prolonged noise = stress = cortisol spikes /poor sleep/depressive symptoms).

I don't know if my symptoms are mainly stress related - causing a protracted phenibut withdrawal, or whether I've properly screwed my dopamine and gaba receptors, while relapsing back into my depression into the bargain?

Tried all the usual supplements (l theanine, valerian, 5-htp, lemon balm) and nothing seems to be shifting my sleeping patterns back, I've even been told to up my dose to 75mg quetiapine by my pdoc since I told them what I'd been up to. The stupid thing is that when I first start taking phenibut, I had this half-concocted (drug-addled) notion that it would actually assist me in coming off quetiapine by preventing the insomnia and rebound anxiety well known during quetiapine withdrawal. Painfully fucking ironic!

If you have an even remotely addictive personality, but you believe your normally strong willpower will allow you to occasionally dabble with something for purely medicinal purposes and then leave it alone, then please avoid Phenibut like the plague! Once you have taken some of this and you still have more in your cupboard, then sooner or later... you will reach for it again. It has a sneakily strong addictive potential and the short term gains are just not worth it.

On the other hand, if anyone can advise on my situation, please feel free to reply

What exactly did phenibut make you feel like? I got about 20 grams of a sample phenibut for free from a vendor I usually go to for my other nootropics. I started off with one gram, and didn't really feel anything. Didn't sleep better, didn't notice any difference. At 2 grams I noticed a VERY SLIGHT warmth and glow, nothing too much. I was told it was like GBL's weaker brother, but I honestly have never even felt anything off it, and it's just been sitting in my drawer since.

You're fucked.

lol jk..

Get some benzos or gabapentin (or both) and start at a mild dose and taper down to nothing over a couple weeks.
Phenibut wds should be over by then and you'll be back to just dealing with seroquel.
Unless you wanna try to kick both together with the aid of benzos (and/or gabapentin) along with a sedating antihistamine.

Good luck.

Try some etizolam or alcohol. I believe any GabaA agonists while active help heal your GabaB system. And vice versa. So any time you're drinking of under the influence of etiz, or alcohol, your GabaB will be healing a lot quicker than if you were sober, while taking away withdrawals. However it is a fine line between addiction and therapy with gaba drugs as you know.
