Phencyclidine Derivatives – A new Class of Designer Drugs

By 2008, phencyclidine derivatives were already very old hat.

actually, the analogues they discuss are somewhat interesting.

That paper only seems to concern itself with variations on the amine group; the real joy is to be found bt fiddling with the aryl/aromatic group (3-methoxyphenyl increases mu opiate agonist activity without diminishing dissociative effects). Even messing with the cyclohexane ring can produce some benefits (like a keto griup - that's one of the reasons ketamine is more popular than PCP - it reduces half life quite considerably) albeit at the cost of reduced potency

The PCx family may be old hat by now, but they are so delightful.

Any comprehensive reviews on PCP-SAR?!

FnB already provided a nice start, but there is certainly more to know:
the real joy is to be found bt fiddling with the aryl/aromatic group
Yep, for example replace the phenyl with a benzothiophen-2-yl and you get BTCP. It's said to be quite potent, although I've never seen any trip reports. And that's just one suggestion.

PEACE! - Murphy
