Phenazepam and PEG 4000

Theoretically, say someone was wanting to inject 2-3mg of this stuff, how much propylene glycol would be required? Would you *only* use prop. glycol as the solvent, or would you need to mix in some ethanol for it to work?

And no, not planning on doing this myself. I don't even inject (LOL).

Hmm, well apparently using the ratios .8/.25/1 for prop.glycol/everclear/water seems to work just fine for dissolving most benzodiazepines effectively. Works fine for oral, IV, rectal routes. IM would most likely hurt a LOT though.

I think PG would work, as ethanol isn't used in hospitals AFAIK.

i'm looking to dissolve phenazepam in something, measure doses roughly and then evaporate the solvent e.g. to put it in capsules when going out and the like.
what would be a good one for this? somehow the alcohol seems to cause troubles dissolving it, doesn't it? what else is good ?

It took a while (couple hours) and a hot water bath, but I've seen 500mg phenazepam dissolve in 750mL 75.5% ethanol for a .66mg/mL concentration.

I wouldn't be surprised if it resettled again. Diazepam settled out of solution when I dissolved it at room temperature in everclear, then put it in the fridge.

1000mg completely disolves in 95% ethanol / 5% water with a bit of head and shaking. 1.3mg/ml

It has not fallen out of solution after many months.

I'd had not noticed anything precipitate for several weeks after returning to and maintaining room temperature.

So far, propylene glycol, absolute ethanol 99.5%, and PEG4000 increases the solubility, it dissolves immediately in DMSO

Reference on the DMSO would be great. Ebays sells LIQUID DMSO (surprising, since usualy a gel, right)? For like $10 a pint.
Also, is abolute pure ethanol needed for the addition to propylene glycol? Won't it dissolve on it's own? Or with some 70% isopropryl?
Dissolving in 100% isopropol solution (91% or 70% with water) is almost unbearable for injection.
I'm alwaways fine with just PMing answers if the questions are dumb or already answered.

mine did, eventually. Interestingly, though, that meant I knew the clear non-precipitated solution was saturted and the best stuff for IV (still hurts; A LOT; ruins veins; so i try to do small shots or add water when posslbe).
