Just went to the doctor and got a new script for clonazepam, which I've been prescribed on-and-off for a few years. Usually I get 60-90 at a time and go back to get more every month or two, and this time she wrote "60 x 0.5" or something like that on the prescription itself. But when I went to pick it up at the pharmacy, she told me they only had 30 and to come back tomorrow for the other 150. Sure enough, the bottle says 180.

Is there any chance I misread the lingo on the script and was actually supposed to get 180? That's pretty unlikely given my history, I've always gone to the same clinic and always gotten 60-90 at once... I'm thinking the pharmacist fucked up, and if that's the case, can I get into any trouble for picking up the other 150? There is a big incentive for me to play dumb and go through with it, so I'd rather take the pills if it's safe to.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Hmmm, that's interesting. Technically it's not your fault and I can't see how you'd get into trouble for it. You don't know for sure what the fuck the doctor wrote down. Well, you do, but you know what I mean. The worst they can do is admit that they fucked up when you go in to get the rest of them. But morally, it's up to you. You know what the right and wrong thing to do here is and I don't want to sway you in one direction or the other, but I wouldn't judge you for going in to get the rest of them.

that reminds me of the time when i was still on suboxone and was on 2mg strips and they gave me a box of 8mg strips...i took it back and said to the pharmacist "i may be a recovering heroin addict, but you're a fucking moron - mistakes like that will kill someone you fucking idiot - what if you gave someone oxy80s instead of oxy20s!" of course this isnt the first problem I had with that particular walgreens, never again!

Lucky break man just make sure you dont go crazy and jack your tolerance up so high that you will be screwed when you get the normal amount next month

I'd have kept going to that same place until they figured out that the 2mg ones existed. A lot of people don't realize that they come in 2mg since the push is to have people on large doses, and 8mg is considered a low dose...

I'm not necessarily saying this will happen, but one thing I would consider is the potential ramifications if it was a mistake - some states pretty strictly monitor scheduled drugs that are dispensed and so naturally the possibility of someone losing their job over a mistake like that exists because it would likely be presumed to be theft.

On the other hand, when I was at walgreens the other day, I just saw this. I wouldn't be surprised if other pharmacies were doing the same as it reduces costs and increases efficiency. Does your physician typically give you refills?

Cane raises a very important point here. It's important to think about all the perspectives.

Although, I will say that this reminds me of the old saying: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."

I always go "hard" for a few nights after I get them (which ain't shit really, like 2-3mg a night) then use them sporadically and sell or give away the rest to friends. Although I seem to be resistant to benzo dependance, when I ended the one stretch where I actually took them as prescribed for 3 months, I stopped basically cold turkey with no problems at all.

No, she only gave me a refill once, because she was going to be on vacation when I was scheduled to run out. I did consider that the doctor might have written 60 days, not 60 pills, since the bottle says to take 2-3 a day as needed. 3 a day for 60 days = 180 pills.

^^^

What country are you in ? such practices vary from one side of the pond to the other

Lucky but fine no worries unless you really like the pharmatrist otherwise just chill..lol

I wish this would happen to me... Damn. I would get all the pills and say I didn't even check the other bottle.

You got a lucky break.

Not so lucky for the pharmacist, I seriously hope no one loses their job over this.

Ok no further HR do I see in leaving this open.

PM me with questions.
