Pharmacists putting your DR's name on S3 purchases

I just got scripted panadeine forte.

Clearly lists in order:
Name of product
How to take
Warning about too much paracetamol
Warning about drowsiness
My name and date of purchase
Active drugs (Codeine and Paracetamol)
Name of Doctor

Panadol Extra (with, wait for it, CAFFEINE!) is the new alternative to Panadeine that you see on bus billboards and on the sides of shit.

Haha it's hilarious that they just say 'extra ingedient' rather than admitting it's caffeine, except in tiny writing down the bottom. It just shows they know how dodgy they're being, as if anyone would pay an extra few dollars for a tiny dose of caffeine, if they knew (or were bothered to find out) that's all it is.

Iirc, Canada has a that states any OTC product containing codeine must also contain a minimum of 2 other ingrediants, generally ibuprofen/paracetemol and caffeine.

Wow, I never knew that. None of my team mates have ever mentioned that, even the ones that had Codeine addictions back in Canada.

That's the thing though. THEY LIE. They sell rikodeine still only they lie to anyone they don't want to sell to. Might say they don't sell it anymore, out of stock, or that particular store doesn't sell that product. But it's all lies. I was once told "sorry we don't sell rikodeine". Took note of pharmacist name who refused me, came back the following night, - different pharmacist, & asked for Riko and was sold it. CAUGHT OUT!

Spot on with that shit! http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/...on=products&terms=rikodeine&stype=NP&expand=0

Just as sharing your OTC 'prescription' history between stores is an invasion of privacy & possibly illegal they really are over zealous in detecting recreational OTC users to the point that I don't think they are acting legally or morally.

As far as I'm aware, they each are individually owned companies, with store managers. Kind of like a Woolworth's type thing my brother. I mean I could hit up 2 x Chemist Warehouses and buy 200mls of Rikodeine and they're computer wouldn't register it. It's not like ProjectSTOP, where the 5-0 are made aware on a monthly basis just how many packets of Sudafed tablets are being sold by each and every pharmacy.

What's really annoying is the repeated lies when it comes to trying to buy pseudophedrine products. I've bought pseduo containing products maybe 5 times in 2 years, and due to OPERATION STOP, they would know that, and yet still I get the "i'm sorry we're out of stock" line. Last time the guy next to me said "Mate they always tell me they're out of stock too, you got to come in here in a suit to get it"

True, true.

So after waiting 10 minutes with their stupid beeper I then have to go elsewhere and pay nearly twice the price. Bastards.

Fucking gotta love them beepers. Poor bastards can't even afford a checkout counter at the Pharmacy's desk

It is like project stop, except likely not legal. Asked the girl for riko along with a script, she asks the usual riko questions, then starts typing into computer. She then says (or words to this effect) "Due to the amount of times you've bought this here, and at (suburb2) store we won't be able to sell this to you without a dr's prescription....Oh actually you've bought it a number of times from (suburb3) as well, so definitely you'll have to get your dr to prescribe this"

So I know with 100% certainly that my 3 local stores are linked up. But if you've bought it from different shops in the same chain then I guess they can't all be linked up. Bad luck for me.
