[PERTH] Sun Electric NYD @ Belmont Racecourse [REVIEWS], 1 Jan

what a mellow night that was..
because of the lack of sleep from nye we were all very chilled and i felt the whole night was fairly mellow except for the rowdy dnb of course.didnt see many excited gurners running around like there usually is.
was the first time ive ever heard techno live and i was pleasantly surprised.cool lights in that room as well.
saw a bit of diamond d,fresh and hype which was cool but wasnt energetic enought to properly get into it.has inspired me to properly get into dnb though so in a few months il be one jaded bad boy probably.
i usually like my trance but it was all too cheesy for me.will have to stick to the more proggy sounds.
in hindsight they probably should of swapped the trance and dnb rooms.trance had hardly anyone in it the whole night and well....dnb had big line ups so it makes sense i think.
so in conclusion it was a nice cruisy night but nothing like say...subculture :)

From what i have gathered the security decided that the DnB room was going to get extremely overcrowded and to cater for the patrons they limited the number of people into the room so that it would be more comfortable for the patrons. I guess it does makes sense if the DnB room did reach capacity and had more people in it than expected. It would have gotten much more uncomfortable with 1000+ odd ravers bouncing off the walls at one time. It just didn't seem like there was that many people at Belmont as there were previous years for them to have a road block. It would probably be better in the future for the DnB room to get the outdoor part of Belmont so that none of the issues brought up previously would occur.

^Agree 100% with that, and that room they always put the DnB in is probably one of the hottest at Belmont, which is not the smartest when people in DnB arena often dance the hardest
