Permanent tolerance?

So, is there such thing as permanent tolerance..
At the end of may, i got a nice amount of percocet.. At the time, I only used codiene and 250mg was too far for me.. I liked 180.. Anyway I take these percocet for 6 days straight in the evenings starting at 20 mg but by the end of the week it was 35 mg.. mind you these wernt my max, just good doses..
Fast forward to present.. I receive mass amounts of codiene.. First dose i take 200 mg.. by the end of the night ive taken 350.. THis continues for 5 days to the pooint where 400 mg is less euphoric than 120 mg when i stated.. Funny though, the nausea is just as strong as it should be, but the euphoria just isnt there.. Before this percocet incedent, I had been using off and on for like a year.. It was interchangable 180 mg codiene (90% of time), 20 mg oxy, or 30 mg hydro. but there where no binges just sporadic use..
So, did this oxy and codiene binge pretty much ruin it for me.. Or will I ever be able to get back down to 200 mg having a decent effect on me??
 
you have to stop using any and all opiates for like 2-3 months to lower your tolerance to a good level. i used to be able to take 2 or 3 10mg fentanyl patches a day or about 400mg of oxycodone, after i stopped for 3 months i could do 20mg of oxycodone and be just as high as 10mg of fentanyl back when my tolerance was up, you do the math, i would say stop for 2 months and you will be able to take 120mg of codeine again and you'll be high from it, only thing though is your tolerance will increase much more rapidly than before so go slow.

Well the deal with codeine (apparently unlike oxycodone) is that its primary opiate effects are through the biotransformation to morphine via CYP2d6. The bitch about this is that this pathway can quite easily get filled up. In other words codeine has a ceiling to its effect. You could probably have upped that to 600mgs and not noticed a difference other than more itching (histamine reaction caused by the codeine itself) and perhaps more nausea...not quite sure what triggers that.
I believe if you only take codeine your enzymes to convert the codeine will be built at about the same rate as your tolerance (hell they would have to be b/c they stop you from getting more effect until this happens).
You took a bunch of percs and probably pushed your tolerance way over what your bodies biotransformation could produce with codeine.
I have heard the issue about tolerance increasing much more rapidly. Is this really an issue in this short of a time span...or only for heavy opiate abusers?
 
I wouldn't say there is such a thing as peraiment tolerance. Although I have never seen any medical study that say's so. Chances are your just using so much you blew your tolerance to a high level. If you quit them for a while your tolerance will be lowered, but, that can take a while. However you said all you did was go on a binge. So I would just chill out on them for a little bit. Besides codeine sucks and is only good if nothing else is around. Don't blow up your OC tolerance. It's a lot harder to get back. If you already did then good luck & break out the dope...
 
stuffed would also eat 600mg of morphine at once, and 100mg of methadone.

How sadly true this is... but damn why cant i have friends who ar into opiates and X (my two favs).. its makes everything so much harder!

Your tolerance will go down if you stop for a bit!
I can't get high off codiene, unless I eat an obscene amount of pills. But I just don't feel right shoving a handful of pills into my mouth. So I usually stay away from it. However, like someone said- they are good for a rainy day. Ecspecially if you want to ward off withdrawal.
