Have people found that adding tramadol to either oxycodone or hydrocodone (or both) potentiates the effect of oxy/hytro or diminishes it? Also, what about if one is dependent on tramadol - would taking different opiates help elmiminate any w/d effects, or would one still need to take the tramadol because of the SSRI-like features of the drug? Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

If discontinueing tramadol you will experience withdrawal effects (relative to the size of your daily dose and period of use). If you substitute another opiate you will still experience symptoms related to the SSRI portion of the drug.

Adding tramadol to another opiate will only potentiate

Tramadol is pretty week...so if you are experiencing withdrawal IMO taking something like oxycodone does help.
