Penicillin vs Augmentin

Greetings all. So, I have a severe allergic reaction to Penicillin. (Throat swells shut) and this is noted in my medical records. Long story short, after a dog bite, my provider wanted to prescribe me Augmentin knowing my allergies. Or am I making this a bigger deal than what it actually is? Thanks

You should contact your doctor, you could react to the Amoxicillin in the Augmentin.

If you're allergic to penicillins then Augmentin is a no-go.
