If I were to guess, probably upwards of 100+ years. It's incredibly slow growing. It can take 20 years for a seedling to grow into a mature plant in the wild. In captivity it is much faster and closer to 3 years. This speicimen is probably 30x larger than the average mature one, though.I wonder how long it's been growing for.
I've read that peyote and other succulents are quite popular as ornamental plants in some parts of Southeast Asia. I bet this speicimen would sell for a million $! It's one of a kind. Even smaller specimens can sell for $3000. Of course, they aren't consumed, but are prized for their beauty.Yeah the internet is censored here (Indonesia). I think they're mainly trying to block porn and they probably figure there's too much borderline (and not so borderline) porn on reddit. It's a pretty hardline traditional culture and government in general here. I should try to take some photos of the anti-drug posters you see, they're pretty funny. The anti-drug laws are pretty strict and harsh. A friend of ours here was framed for weed possession as a young adult and is now serving a decade or something in prison. Really sad and tragic and such a waste. Apparently Thailand is legalizing, so hopefully that sets a precedent in SE Asia for some more relaxed laws around weed at least.

Reddit indeed has A LOT of porn on it. I don't think many people know this, as it's never on the front page or very obvious. I believe over half of the content in Reddit is straight up porn. Many social media sites are like this, such as Instagram.
You can buy lophophora on the local version of amazon/ebay here, without any restrictions or trouble, and I think it indeed is only used as an ornament or enthusiast's collection.I've read that peyote and other succulents are quite popular as ornamental plants in some parts of Southeast Asia. Anyone else here like comic books, I sure do. Lately I have gotten really into having them read and explained on YouTube. It's pretty cool cuz the guys know every little detail and all kinds of stuff that's not written but could relate especially if your new to the the series. Just started this new one today called "Ice Cream Man" it sounds like it's gonna be creepy as fuck. They were gonna turn it into a television series but it fell through for some reason.
I never really got into comic books much, even when I was a kid. Other than Calvin and Hobbes, I always absolutely loved that, but that's no so much a comic book as a comic strip, but I had all the anthologies as a kid (or rather, my mom did) and I've probably read them all 10 times at least.
So stupid and sad, I so hard to believe humanity is locking people away for something so harmlessA friend of ours here was framed for weed possession as a young adult and is now serving a decade or something in prison.
That's cool ! I loved Calvin and Hobbes as a kid too, still do really. I had many of the anthologies and read them all several times too.
Here in South America its not that well known, so I rarely come across people who read it too. I kinda discovered it randomly, my mother's friend gave me one the books as a birthday present when I was 8 and I fell in love with it.
