PCP - Experienced (sorta) - Voyageur
PCP has been one drug I was DYING to try, simply out of curiousity since I love dissociatives and since it is so rare and has so much mystique surrounding it. I was ecstatic when a good friend announced that he had found some.
The “dust” I got was actually a green putty – and I mean that. You can mould it into any shape you want. It doesn’t stain or stick to your fingers. It also smells very much like mint and flu-master markers. How about an angel dust gummy bear? :D
But seriously. I am not sure why it looked like that, but I tell you that it was some pretty damn potent putty. I’m assuming it was freebase PCP. A friend tried smoking it and said it was not very effective that way (go figure). I tried smoking it as well using a tinfoil, and got absolutely nothing. Keep in mind, though, that I suck at smoking things, no matter what method I use. Of course, the putty cannot be snorted. So I tried it rectally, and although it caused me to have several intense, trips to the bathroom, that was about it.
So my only choices left were oral and injection. I never inject something before I am very familiar with its effects, so this is postponed (however, I shall report if I ever get to do so). And so, I make a ball of green phencyclidine, and swallow it. It tasted like really, really bitter mint/marker with a hint of crayon (and yes, I have tasted crayon before. Don’t ask). I estimate the dose to have been in the 10 – 20mg range. I could be way off, of course.
For the first hour, there are pretty much no effects. As the second hour rolls by, things start to change. At that point it starts out almost identically to a cannabis buzz, and keeps intensifying like so. (May I note that I have not ingested any Cannabinoids for the month past). As the third hour rolls by, the cannabis-like headspace quickly changes into a definitely dissociative one, not unlike a medium dose of Ketamine or 2nd plateu DXM, but mind you, it is very unique. This stage is caractarized by a very, very raw numbness all over the body – very much like nitrous, however you are not knocked off. I personally do not mind it at all. This numbness lasts for the whole trip, and you know you're going back to "baseline" as the numbness starts subsiding.
I basically took the PCP in an apartment then went for a longish walk (about an hour) after I started feeling the aforementioned effects, then came back to the apartment. At this point (about 5 hours into it), I was pretty fucked up. My hearing was very distorted. Sounds seemed all distant and it took time for me to process auditory information, so conversation was very annoying (especially that I could barely hear my own voice, and that I could barely remember what words I had just said). Movement was not as impaired as with Ketamine, and there was some stimulation.
I found my thought patterns to be more disturbed than with any other drug. I sometimes found myself thinking about things unwillingly, as if someone else was doing my thinking for me. For the most part, it was amusing.
But perhaps the most shocking effect of this drug (to me, in any case) is its effects on space and time. Although I did not experience a lot of body-image distortion, my spatial perception was completely fucked. It was very hard to tell the difference between the sizes of objects, and focussing on one object can be annoying as its size-perception changes when one goes nearer or further from it. More shocking was the time distortion: there was a complete time-shuffle to the point where I simply had no way of locating myself in a timeframe. So for example, it was very possible that this morning was 3 hours after now, and that I had taken the drug tomorrow, and that two days had passed since I had taken the drug (tomorrow). Or how I will have dinner three hours after I take the drug yesterday, tomorrow. Wait, that last one was the nearest to reality, right? But I really think I said that five days ago, making tomorrow yesterday.
But anyways. After that I went to lie down. There was a lot of what I call “psychedelic garbage”. I experienced that on DXM. It is basically random “pieces” of psychedelic visuals that would come and go randomly. They are neither immersive, nor particularly interesting or meaningful. They seemed like edited byproducts of some LSD trip happening somewhere else at another time. But what is more interesting is the PCP mindspace. There are these…things. They are definitely extra-sensory, and so they cannot be defined by sensory data. They are definitely memories, and yet you can only remember “frames” instead of the entire “animation”. They are like dreams, and yet they are as real as realiry. They are not exactly OBEs, nor exactly alternative realities. They seem interactive yet not controllable in any way. If this paragraph of what they are not means anything to you, then perhaps you know what I’m talking about.
The trip starts dying down after 6-8 hours, however you still feel the drug in your system for days later. The “psychedelic garbage” seems to carry on every now and then as well.
Mind you, this drug is not without its faults. I find that all my experiences with it had this feeling of being somehow ill. I experienced nausea on two of my trips. It also made me (or to be fair, allowed me) do stupid things, like walking for hours in direct sunlight and suffering heat stroke while not feeling it and then taking some meth on top of that. Yep. At the time it seemed like a good idea. But when the effects waned I was suffering from heat stroke and some hypertension and dehydration. Not too good. As a side note, adding Meth made me feel more sober, but in fact, I was actually more fucked up.
Ketamine, expectedly, synergizes very will with PCP. Taking it will increase the likelihood of experiencing those unidentifiable “things” mentioned above. MDMA also mixes very well with PCP (at least lower doses), making the effects of the MDMA last longer. However, I am not sure how safe that combination is (I had tried it with very small doses of each).
I also find that PCP’s effects are cumulative, probably due to its extremely long elimination period. I found that redosing, even the next day, will result in a multiplication of the effects. Taking the same dose next day will produce a stronger trip than the one the day before.
There is something about this drug that I find forboding, and I do not plan on taking it very often, now that my curiousity has been satisfied. I did not find it has anything to offer in terms of personal development, and not too much in terms of fun either. YMMV, of course. As an aside, I found the track "Voyageur" by Enigma to be extremely expressive of this drug's state of mind
I know this report is kind of dry, but the main reason I wrote it is to document the effects of PCP as I experienced them since there seems to be a lack of reports on it, especially ones where one is ingesting it willingly. Thanks for reading.
