paxil drug interactions..

I'm on paxil right now for sleeping problems, but my question are there any effects from self medicating myself with benzos?? Or Ambien?? Paxil has helped me sleep, but I need the benzos just to help me cope with other things throughout the day..
I'm prolly being to 'noid', but could this through off any progress made by paxil? I've stopped ALL other drugs ie. marijuana, alcohol.. except for some hydrocodone I use to feel nice. I don't know if this post makes sense, but what I'm trying to say is will these drugs have any affect on my sleeping problems??

Do you have insomnia or sleep too much? If you have insomia then the benzos or Ambien will definately help. There are no interactions between SSRI's and benzos, the combo is prescribed all of the time.

the ambien may actually be a good idea for help with sleep. paxil helps as well, but paxil leaves me feeling groggy and dreamy and disconnected all day. And although it helps me sleep, I have a hard time waking up and feel considerably groggy.
ambien may help in the fact that you wake up feeling like a new person. Taking paxil & ambien would work well for sleeping problems, and you won't feel stuck to your bed in the morning.
 
i think if you were to self med your self a nice joint 2 hours before bed would be the best way, hell a joint when you wake up wouldn't hurt either, i don't really like the idea of people having to do drugs just to do natural accurring things.. you should really seek other help unless you plan on doing this every day the rest of your life... doesn't sound fun to live your life around a pill =(

I love weed just as much as the next guy, but IT IS A DRUG. There are people out there with a legitimate need to help sleeping. I don't see how you don't like the idea of a pill to help sleep but a joint is just fine.
i would rather live my life around a pill if it kept me from insomnia (also another name for insanity)
how is this different than the man who needs nitro glycerine pills for his heart? granted you won't die from lack of sleep but you get the idea.. we all have shortcomings and if a pill will alleviate or solve those shortcomings wouldn't you take it? unless you've suffered from it you have no idea how horrible it is..
 
I have been trying to STOP other drugs like weed because it doesn't help my situation out at all, it just makes me feel more agitated so I can't sleep even more! Weed is defenitly NOT the route to go with.. thanks for all the replies.
