Ahhh.. you cut it open and applied the gel directly to the skin? You ate some? Smoked some? Heated the patch? It doesn't really matter, because if you tell then we can explain *why* thats dangerous, most people are TOTALLY CLUELESS about these things, and I have heard COUNTLESS TIMES "well, lets cut it in half then tape the open end shut" ..
Actually there is a method that helps get some added *punch* on that second day.. it involves leaving a square in the middle of the membrane un-exposed (you simply cut a square out of the back and re-apply that to the membrane before you put the patch on.. on the second day, remove that to exponse the "virgin area" of the membrane.. I am convinced thats the problem with these things - the membrane/film gets all nasty and gummed up - there is still plenty of drug in the patches but it's not getting to your skin, or it is but at a crippled rate ... well, peal back the batch on the second day and remove the square (exposing the virgin area) ... now because it's surface area that dictates how much you get in yer body, the covered area could possibly mean you get a lesser buzz - but I have never noticed a differance... but:
Tonight I was at a friends house, and they should be getting some 75ug patches shortly - ideal for the two people in the house that use chronic opioids.. but there will be others visiting that have NO TOLLERANCE (one thats even super sensitive to narcotics and gets off on like 20mg hydrocodone) .. so of course I highly warned that a 75ug patch is a large amount, and that some nasty complications could come about if these 2-Vicodin-has-me-floored people slapped on a patch thats suddenly going to deliever 75 micrograms of pure fentanyl to their system - and it's a double edged knife as if there were problems, and the patch was removed, the user would still have a couple hours before things begin to diminish .. well, as one person suggested - "couldn't you cover it?" .. I do believe this would work... cover a portion (in this case, maybe hafl) of the membrane as described above, one person could use it for 24 hours (these are not TRUE narcotics people) then even peal off a portion to expose some virgin membrane, and they too are in business - thoughts? Better yet, anyone got a 75ug patch thats sensitive to narcotics?
