Hey guys..


So i just got some panadeine forte's 30mg codeine - 500mg APAP


Bombing at least 4 of these is fine right? Doc said i can have 4 grams of APAP at a time..said dont worry bout the liver thing as long as you got a healthy liver its all sweet! :-) :-P


So thats 8 pills...quite a nice buzz.

I had 3 before and its mixing in quite well with a morning xannie does... amazing feeling for only 90mg!

I think its cause its pure 90mg codeine instead of me taking it out via extraction..quite lovely!

^ I think the recommended max APAP you should be having is 4g per day, not at a time. I definitely wouldn't have any more than that without doing a CWE.

Funnily enough for me an equivalent dose of codeine from panadeine (codalgin) forte feels stronger than the same dose from a CWE, even allowing for some losses in the extraction. Perhaps certain brands of ibuprofen/codeine don't actually contain the 12.8mg codeine/tablet they're supposed to?

Oh do we really need another codeine thread TrippppAR?
 
You will probably feel pretty gutty later on. I use ortes all the time, if I have 5 or more I'm completely sick for the next day. 4g over a DAY sounds more like it, not al at once. Alot easier doing cwe with fortes though, I just drink the water 10 minutes after soaking, don't even seperate from the gunk. Just try and do it I one motion

^^^^LOL true... But that much paracetamol wont only dsmage your liver, you'll be on the way to developing an uncomfortable stomach ulcer. Just CWE it and stay safe...

I think you are confusing paracetamol with NSAIDS. Paracetamol can be highly hepatotoxic in high doses, whereas NSAIDS cause stomach ulcers.

For what it's worth, I never use ibuprofen/codeine formulations for extractions. They never seem to go as clean as the best APAP/codeine brands do.

As for comparing a CWE of Rx codeine/APAP with OTC codeine/APAP... I've never noticed a difference. I imagine it could vary by brand though, we all know how different they can be when dissolved.
 
^ Definately second that paracetamol/codeine pills tend to filter cleaner than ibuprofen pills. When I used to CWE a lot more than I do now I was using panafen plus mostly, which contain 200mg of ibuprofen per tablet, around the time i was doing those regularly I used to get acid reflux a lot and personally attribute it to a little ibu getting through.

I only ever used panadeine fortes as opposed to OTC codeine for an extraction once, I have to say to me it did feel quite a bit stronger than an extraction on OTC tablets would. I have known several people to agree with me on this but it may well just be psychosomatic.
 
I'd say it's just down to how much gets lost in the extraction. While I've got no idea how much codeine makes it through the filter, I'm sure it's not 100%.
