I've developed what has been the most painless method for me to switch from 7oh to subs. This is not some definitive guide, it's only what I have learned to do myself through trial and error. If anyone has any criticisms or suggestions please type away!
Transitioning from 7oh to suboxone is not as easy as you might think, but it's also not as bad as you might think with this one easy trick; for the first 3 days, you can continue taking 7oh along with the suboxone as you do a mega rapid 2 or 3 day taper. Then, on day 4, you stop taking 7oh and then begin cutting down your suboxone dose to where you feel best.
I would advise these suboxone doses relative to 7oh use per day:
<50mg - I would not advise suboxone, just taper and/or switch to regular kratom
50-100mg 7oh = 2-4mg suboxone
100-200mg 7oh = 4-8mg suboxone
300-400mg 7oh = 12mg suboxone
500mg+ = 16mg+ suboxone
These are only starting doses for your suboxone. After day 4, I always feel like I can lower my suboxone dose significantly. But of course, you can do this at your own discretion.
Day 1
- This is the worst day, but it's really not that bad.
- Take your first suboxone dose first thing in the morning, as soon as you start feeling withdrawal symptoms. (I highly suggest splitting up your suboxone doses into 2 per day, or more)
- Now, along with your morning suboxone, take some amount of 7oh. On the first day, it's OK to take close to your original dose, but remember we will be rapidly tapering over 3 days here. I would suggest taking 70% of your usual doses. The suboxone is going to block a majority of it anyways. But when you take 7oh on top of suboxone, it alleviates most, but not all, of the withdrawal, some precip withdrawal remains, but it's negligible. You won't feel 100%, but you won't feel terrible either.
- You can use mitragynine extracts, they help. You could also use mitragynine instead of 7oh for this process if you want. Personally, I use a mix.
- Do not take any more 7oh throughout the day, until your night dose.
- At night, take another dose of 7oh and your suboxone and enjoy a nice sleep.
Day 2
- This day is exactly like day 1, except you are going to take much much less 7oh today, like maybe 25% of your usual doses.
- Your suboxone doses will be starting to peak, so pay attention to how much you think you need going forward.
- Take 1/4th of your usual 7oh doses once in the morning and once at night along with your suboxone
- If you're feeling a bit squirrelly mid day, you can take some mitragynine.
Day 3
- This is our last day taking any 7oh at all. It is very important you stop taking 7oh at this point. You should be starting to feel better now, and you may not feel the need to take any 7oh at all. Your suboxone doses have peaked and your brain should be mostly adjusted to it.
- Do not take any 7oh in the morning
- Only take a single, tiny dose of 7oh at night, if you feel like you need it.
Day 4
- You should be feeling good today. Luckily 7oh acutes are remarkably short and only last around 3 days for me.
- If you want, and I would suggest, you should start lowering your suboxone dose on this day. I find that I need a higher dose up front*, but going forward after day 3 I really don't need that much. 16mg is overkill even for a 500mg/day habit in my opinion. But to each their own.
Day 5
- Congrats you are off 7oh!
* That's kind of the key to all of this. Suboxone does cause precip withdrawal from 7oh, but ironically I find the best way to treat it is to start out by taking high doses of suboxone right away, instead of starting low and titrating up in an effort to avoid precip withdrawal.
Please feel free to add any suggestions or your own experiences transitioning to suboxone.
