I searched here and on google, and I can't find any info. When I use heroin (insufflation has been my method of choice recently) I get an insanely sweaty scalp and forehead. I almost immediately look like I've just washed my hair, while the rest of my body isn't sweaty at all. And, in addition to the sweating, the skin on my face gets hot to the touch, though it doesn't look red or irritated, and the skin on my face and arms becomes painful. The pain is centered around my eyes. It's sort of a burning feeling, sort of an extremely dry skin feeling, but it's not relieved with moisturizer. Below my cheeks and above my eyebrows, I feel the pain but it's not as intense. The pain on my arms is only noticeable if I squeeze the skin. Strangely, my neck and chest have no symptoms. Ice soothes the pain for the time the ice is there, but it doesn't take it away. Only time - 4-5 hours - brings relief.
I used to be a hardcore IV addict, and I did not have this problem, either the extreme head sweating or the painful skin. I've had itchy skin, and this is nothing like itches. I've been buying from quite a few different sources, and I have the same symptoms every time despite noticeably different cuts. (I know nothing about cutting, so perhaps there is a common agent in there, but I wouldn't have the first guess.)
Has anyone else experienced this? Do you have any idea what could be causing it or what I can do to stop it? The sweating is so bad that it's started keeping me away from the drug, which I suppose is a good thing. There is no way I can go out in public with the drenching head sweats. And the skin pain is just unpleasant. I'm starting to think I may actually be allergic to heroin. I am a cancer and ulcerative colitis patient, so I've taken lots of different opiate pills, and had IV dilaudid and morphine in the hospital over the past few months with no similar side effects. Overall, I'm a little worried. I'm not sure if they are the kind of things that could herald eventual anaphylactic shock, and while my doctor is aware of my issues, I'm not extremely comfortable asking him about this.
