Get off your high horse. I am sympathetic in yall getting screwed by big pharma but dont bring the nonsense attitude to bluelight; leave it at WebMD where it belongs. This is a harm reduction site not a who's in more pain dick measuring contest, all due respect. Sorry for the rant but I feel this is a real issue that needs to be addressed... 8o

Huh? A lot of the chronic pain patients' posts that I read are legitimate questions about medications/changes/etc

What are you referring to exactly?

^^OP is probably mad that he doesn't get those scripts every month. I can smell the bitterness

I was just reading through the opana er death thread and it is obviously there no need to play coy. I am not trying to aggravate PP but this is the general attitude that I have observed at my time at this site. Not everyone is guilty obviously.

Well since there is a large number of people that act that way, it can be considered one. I mostly pointed out that thread because threads like this get closed in this forum, so that thread is at least somewhere where you could continue such a discussion.

OP , there does seem to be a place for you to vent, should you feel the need but I think we all try and justify our excessive drug use at one point or another.

There are a huge myriad of sub cultures or even local groups of people who have a liking for a particular substance right from solvent abuse up to heroin or DMT.

This has been the case for 50 years or more, probably most pronounced publicly in the 60's with the psychedelic movement many of which shunned all other drugs.

I'm not really sure what your getting at, I think maybe you are saying that there are people who take pain medication to deal with their health issues and that they distance themselves from recreational drug users, well hell yeah why not. If you have some taking opiates because if they don't they are in inconceivable physical pain that is different from someone who chooses to take Heroin just to get high. I think that's a defensible outlook, not necessarily one I would hold with as we are all different and have our own story but defensible non the less.

If you can find someone with this outlook maybe they may discuss there reasoning for it with you but it seems like a fairly obvious standpoint to me, if a little uneducated and lacking in a deeper understanding of peoples individual motivations.

OP, you're judging. You're lumping pain patients into a group, calling them out for "dick measuring" blah blah blah. You really need to think about this post

Pain patients, in "real" life, already have a stigma associated with them. I'm personally a pain patient. I don't tell all of my family and classmates that I am on opiates for legitimate reasons, b/c there will be judgment, as you said. Even though it's for legitimate reasons. But then I log onto bluelight, "fake life", and see this ridiculous post. I am quite frustrated with your arrogance in all honesty. I'm not gonna write a long ass rant, b/c frankly this is the internet and I'm not going to waste my time.

I personally never understood "spamming" or whatever the term is, where someone is a hater via the internet and dedicates so much of his time to uselessness. Which is basically the basis of this thread.

I vote we close this thread.
