Pain medicine

hope this belongs here

my boyfriend suffers from severe back pain, and was bed ridden from the age of 15-18. during then he was on oxys and percocets. he hasn't taken anything and is now 21, but still suffering greatly. we have gone to a chiropractor in the past to establish a long term plan, but i was wondering if anyone here had any experience with pain medicine OTHER than opiates..

neither of us want to go down that road but he's been in pain since he left the hospital 3 years ago.
alieve doesn't work, tylenol doesn't.. etc. the normal things you'd think would work don't

is it muscular pain? maybe a muscle relaxant could help
theres prescription NSAIDs and different creams that could help as well
is there any operation he can undergo to help his pain?
i found that the chiropractor didnt really help me very much but thats just my experience

For me, severe nerve pain is best treated with good weed. For me, it blows away ALL opiates, hands down!

he has taken promethezine which is a muscle relaxant and antihistimine and didn nothing.. but maybe not the right thing. do you have any suggestions? he's already had operations when he was bed ridden to fix it and is just worse. i will look up those nsaids and creams though, thanks for tjhe help

yeah he says the same thing. but it kinda sucks having to be high 24.7

if the weeds working, id just stick to that.

other than that, if its severe pain, opiates are the only thing BASICALLY that works almost garenteed
