I recently finally found a pain dr that woukd take me, if u read my old posts, i got hit by a car as a pedistrian almost a year ago. And iv been in constant pain, i was on oxycodone for awhile, but my dr stopped seeing me.

So i found a pain clinic that would take me(i have crappy insurance) soi wnt, it was a lot! First visit, and he only gave me 60 5/350 hydrocodone! For a month! Is this normal? Next visit he wants me to bring my xrays, and ct scans.

Well i still in horrible pain, my aunt goes to pain management and told me this is normal for a dr to start u low, then build u up. My next visit will cost a lot, should i stick it out? His pain clinic policy is no instant release oxycodone and dilaudid! But he does prescribe oxycotin, morphine, etc, ti e release meds. But should i stay or just find a new dr? I never signed a contract. But his office was packed with ppl, so he must be good.

But i use too 120 oxycodone 5/325 every 15 days, so this is a huge cut! Im keeping a pain journal, and failed physical therapy. In to much pain.(but i have cut down alot , my last script i made it last a month, bcs i didnt want to have serious withdrawal, and etc)

What should i do? Im having a hard time living, and its hard to even be awake! If u read my other posts ud understand.

Just a random thought: have you tried cannabis? It does seem to work in cases where opiates don't work, although I have to admit I'm a bit hazy on the specifics.

Yes this is normal...I'm glad you finally found a doc that would give you something...I think with your history and the fact that he hasn't even seen your ct scan,MRI or xray it is pretty surprising he gave you anything. If I remember correctly, you don't have whole lot of pain mgmnt docs to choose from, correct? If that is the case you better pay the money and stick with him! And thank your lucky star he gave you anything at all!

How do you know he doesn't prescibe IR oxy or dilaudid? (Which I really don't think you will end up getting prescribed anyways anytime soon). Did he tell you that or is that what other people have said? Did he give you any refills? Did he set you up for a next appt?
