Opioids Ozempic with Oxycodone - delayed/reduced effect?

I’ve been a pain patient for 1.5 years taking Oxycodone pills daily. I also am taking Ozempic injections weekly. I’m wondering if anyone taking both has experienced either delayed or reduced effect of opioid pain pills while also taking GLP-1 medication. Often it feels as if the Oxy doesn’t take effect until about 3 hours after taking them. I think the effectiveness may be reduced too. Anyone have experience or thoughts on this and input how to minimize this? Thanks.

Well, this is a fascinating question. On surface level semaglutide is a glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonist, which in itself shouldnt interfere with opioids when we just compare them based on psychopharmacological level.

However, opioids are known to reduce the sugar levels iirc. This is also the reason why addicts have sugar craving occasionally. So, somewhere there is a correlation between opioids and the food regulating systems.

Are you sure that the effect diminishes to such an extend? When we just look at the effects of both drugs, there shouldnt be a big problem. But semaglutide is a pretty new drug, so we still have to discover all these minor side effects.
