Hi!

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum - I took 25mg of Oxynorm and have found no effect after an hour - route was oral. I have absolutely no opioid
dependence either! Has anyone ever heard of this - total resistance to opioids (in the UK I have taken 240mg of Codeine in one go - no effect -
and previously took 20mg of morphine - also no effect - both acquired, legally, over the counter due to archaic laws in the UK!)

Mods : I do support harm reduction, very much so, and I have found out after taking the oxynorm that 10mg is the starting dose. I'm at no risk
as will just stay up and do work till any 'peak' has passed. If this post is inappropriate, please delete... but please don't ban my user - I have a lot
of harm-reduction knowledge and advice and hope to contribute to these forums over the next few years, and to help people (particul uarly around
Benzos and Z-drugs, which are very useful medications but can easily become very, very harmful).

Thanks for your advice - maybe I should just give up on opiates!! :)

Some people have a naturally higher tolerance to opiates, and some people also aren't quite sure what to expect from the 'buzz' and find opiates underwhelming. I remember using a similar dose years ago. I had already experienced the opiate high from heroin but want using dope often at all, so when I took the oxy, I really had no tolerance. 25mg just wast enough. It definitely doesn't make to immune to opiates because though it's in the range of what most naive users might take to achieve a buzz, it's not an incredibly strong dose, and neither is 20mg of morphine when taken orally, and codeine is like, 30 times weaker than morphine.

Just count yourself lucky and move on. If you don't experience the opiate high, you won't risk addiction.

When I first started out, I swallowed 60mg oxycodone & got nicely high. Some people just have a high natural tolerance.

Nowadays I'll get high once as week & I'll shoot what my friends do who do it every day.

From a harm reduction point of view I would say.... Absolutely no effect several hours later! However it is generally recommended,
if trying Oxynorm, to start with 5-10mg (and don't mix with any other depressants such as alcohol, benzos, Z-drugs, or other
opiates) - or you could risk fatal respiratory depression!

My first experience with opiates was when I took 60mg codeine - as a painkiller along with paracetamol after getting a bad burn
from a tray in the oven... I just took the 2x 30/500 paracodeine, and only realised 2 hours later than I felt warm and chilled and
'melting' into the sofa!

I think I will give up on Opiates - will soon be free of regular benzos too which will be the end of a sort-of nightmare (got prescribed
Benzos - Clonazepam - and knew exactly what I was getting into - they helped out with preventing relapse of an extremely rare
medical condition which I now have under control - and despite my knowledge of benzos, GABA, Glutamate, and so on, the withdrawals
are just horrible (although, if you can control the anxiety - are almost like a mild stimulant 'high' due to the reducing depressant
effect!

Thank you for your replies and I look forward to being more active in the forums over the coming years!

Reverse tolerance is quite common with opiates. One kind of has to tune into the effects then you can proceed to drop out.
