I'm new to posting, but been reading n learning a while. You guys r the bomb!! I've been with my same PM office 4 yrs. On 30mg oxycodone 5 x day, soma 350mg 3 x day, morphine er30mg. New Dr. Bought practice & says NO MORE 30s. Starts by reducing to 4 a day n adds Opana 10mg er. Now I love the oxymorphone cuz I can snort it. But isn't it malpractice to take me down w/o my ok? N is Opana 15,20mg generic also snortable?

I don't see how it would be illegal. This is actually pretty common. New DOC moves in and gets scared because the old DOC actually prescribed what the patient needed. Crazy eh?

I have seen a new DOC move in and give patient one last script and say good luck. Hopefully your doctor is responsible in tapering your dose. I can't tell you how many horror stories are out there. It makes me angry. At least you don't have a gnarly benzo habit on top. A lot of the time people get the enjoyment of 2 withdrawals at once. Benzo withdrawal can actually kill you. Luckily your doctor is starting off slow. Still sucks though. It is synthetic heroin after all.

These doctors and the DEA that makes them this way.. it really has to suck for you guys that are really really suffering. It actually makes me mad.

Pain is pain. I understand dying in peace. But isn't there a little more to be said about living a functional life? While you still have a good 20-30 years ahead.

Opana ER is difficult to snort because it turns into a gel as soon as it gets wet. You can Google methods for removing the gel. It can be done. Are you aware you can snort the oxycodone? Or is that what you meant by the oxymorphone? I don't think I can link to other sites. But Google opana conversion dosage. Hope that's okay. Opana is equivalent to your oxymorphone potency wise. Although the extended release may complicate things. I'm not entirely sure.

Hope this was helpful. Good luck.
