I was just wondering what u guys thought as far as tapering and withdrawl between the two. Does the time release make oxycontin like an opiate with a longer halflife which would make the withdrawl last longer?

No, oxycodone's metabolic half life is constant at 3-4.5 hours according to Wikipedia. Oxycontin's extended release formulation just means that doses of oxycodone will be dispersed over 8 hours, and thus each dose would have its own half life.

Luckily Oxycontin's extended release means that you will have progressively smaller doses to withdraw from and each dose will have its own half life (if you are taking it as directed) whereas with the Roxycodone the withdrawal and half life would occur at the same time.

How much do you do per day? Tapering opiates with withdrawal does prolong the effects of withdrawal. The best way to kick it if you really want to kick it is cold turkey. Youre just trading one addiction for another. Im going through withdrawal currently. Its been 3 days. Its been rough, but you can do it if you want to bad enough. That is if yourr currently using. General oxy withdrawal depending on youre metabolism it usually about 5 days.

Thanks for both of your replys bluedrip man taking between 150-210 mg of roxie in one dose one time per day. I kno cold turkey is the way to go im just a total pussy when it comes to withdrawls.
