Oxycontin robbery suspect overdoses and dies at hotel room

Wouldn't a massive OD on opiates cause convulsions and inherently be an extremely uncomfortable way to pass? The high is pleasant....and OD is not, surely? I dont think it would be as simple as nodding out and never waking, would it? Im not sure.

^ Yeah I think it's not a so pleasant way to die. I'd rob some powerful barbiturates instead, that's what they give to people terminately ill who want to die in Switzerland (it's legal here).

I don't think it was a suicide

They recovered drugs - personally speaking, when you want to die, you don't leave pills unswallowed

He was in the hot tub- I'm not sure how opiates interfere with temperature regulation in the body... but I have vivid memories of getting blasted in the face damn near point blank with projectile vomit from my beautiful girl friend at the time as we sat rolling in a hotel hot tub... and after draining, cleaning it all up, and refilling... BLAST number two! lol that was the end of the hot tub (at least with anything beyond room temp water lol)..anyway, point being, hard drugZ + hot Tub = not very smart

I really think the guy nodded out in the tub celebrating his hit. If he wanted to OD he would have ate every pill he had. Up to your nips in water, do you REALLY wanna be nodding? Accidental drowning, I bet the autopsy will back that.

Oxy OD is not, in any way at all, a pleasant way to die.

First comes incredibly fast waves of sweat and fever as your body races around trying to figure out why the fuck it's CNS is getting shut down
Then a sense of nausea, fear, vomiting, convulsions and eventually without any medical assistance, death.

It is not quick, or painless, or a, as some of you put it, "Great way to go out"
