Hi Guys,

Every time i swallow Oxycontin (around 50mg) my cheeks go bright red like a bad sunburn starting the next day for 2-3 days.

Is this bad?
What the heck is going on.

It's EVERY TIME.

sounds like a reaction from histamine release; opiates cause a good amount of histamine to be released which causes pruritus (itching).

take an anithistamine, diphenhydramine (benedryl) should suffice. if it doesnt go away from taking benedryl and it is consistent for a week, go to a doctor.
