I am pretty new in the world of downer, I was mostly into stimulant(amphetamine, coke and ritalin) Yesterday I had a very intense pain in my month and I visited my dentist, it's only a little infection but it hurt alot :(.

So the dentist gave me a 20 Oxycontins 10mg to reduce the pain and let me have a good night of sleep. I tried oxycontin only once before (5mg) and the only other opiat I tried is codeine. I need got high on those before even whit 50mg of oxycontin(crushed) ....

I took my first oxycontin 10mg this morning, started whit 20mg I though I would get no buzz I only wanted to kill the pain.

15-20minutes after I ingested the oxycontins I started to feel a feeling of wellbeen and instantly I become very euphoric,

1h after I started to come down, even if I told myself I would only take 1oxy every 6hours, I took 1crushed and 1 not, I was in paradise never I feeled something like that even whit E which was my favorite high before.

So far I took 80mg over 8hours.

I really fear of getting addicted I know I am playing whit fire :( it's only my second time and I already can't control myself over that drug. Now I understand completly how people can be addicted to oxy,

I am not gonna get anymore because I love it way too much and this pathway will lead me in a complete nightmare(but pretty damn nice nightmare :| )

Oxycontin 80mg
Codeine 50mg
Diphenhydramine 75mg

Sorry for all error of orthograph, I guess I'm too high right now to write well :D

Oxycontin is really addictive. It seems to just have something that other opioids don't. I think the main thing is that it also makes me productive, in that it actually improves my ability to study or perform manual labor. This is something I've never found from other the other opioids I've tried (Morphine, Codeine, Tramadol, Pethidine). However, another thing that I have noticed is that I get this effect only from oxycontin, but not from the oxycodone in endone. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it possible that the manufacturer puts some other chemical into oxycontin? Probably just me being crazy :)

Nice report but do keep in mind this is the reason why doctors are reluctant to prescribe these narcotics , now Oxycontin in a opiate naive individual last for 8-12 so its definatly in your head that they only worked for an hour , when i first started taking 20 mg i was high for atleast 4 or 5 hours pretty nicley , dont crush your tablets anymore as thats just going to make things worse for you .. take them as prescribed and dont abuse them .. because when theyre gone their gone you wont be able to get more.

Be careful. I started in a similar situation as you, using low doses of legitimately prescribed Oxycontin. That of course lead to using higher doses intranasally. Not surprisingly, THAT lead to a 80-120 MGs a day I.V. oxy habit. Four years and a .5 Gram a day I.V. black tar habit later, here I am... Strung out on smack. And don't even consider thinking "that could never happen to me," because it can and most likely will happen to anybody who falls in love with the most wonderfully horrible mind altering substance ever created; Opiates.

Take it for the pain and not for the high. Try to use it and not "abuse" it as best you can. The choices you make now may forever change your future.

'when i first started taking 20 mg i was high for atleast 4 or 5 hours pretty nicley'

When I take about 10mg it last about 1hr and I get all edgy and uncomfortable after about an hour.
Then it seems that when I take more it just relieves the edginess. I end up taking about 10mg an hour or so and don't really feel hight

Any advice??

I agree, better late than never, :

Ditto to that.

I wish someone would have explained that to me a few years ago, but I probably wouldn't have paid attention anyways.

True though. Very, very true.

A lot of people feel they can be productive (work, school, etc.) on opiates because of endorphins. You simply feel good and feel okay doing whatever you have to do, as opposed to doing something you enjoy.
