Opioids Oxycontin 10mg vs 15mg - Strength issue- WTF??

Hi All,
I have been using Oxycontin recreationally for a few years and he has noticed the Oxycontin 10mg seem very weak compared to the same dose of 15mg/20mg, and it's hard to get high from the 10mg's.

Example: If I plug 10 x 10mg (100mg) oxycontin crushed I will get little to no effect, however, if I plug 6 x 15mg oxycontin (90mg) I get a much stronger effect. This diminished effect of 10mg vs 15mg has been noted using oral ROA also.

I know the 10mg is going to have more binders/fillers etc but it should not mean such a drop of effects from the 15mg.

The Oxys are from a doctor (Australia) and are manufactured by "mundipharma". Australia does not have the "OP" versions here so they would be the same as the OC versions (extended release) before they were changed in some country's.

I would be interested to hear from others with the same issue or any ideas on the cause/ways to get around this.

Thanks,

Expectation effects? Have you done some blind / double blind testing?

Are you crushing them equally well? Continuous release oxycodone isn't really meant to be converted into IR by crushing.

Also, we don't allow the "my cat" nonsense around here, it only makes your posts harder to read.

If I remember correctly, with the original formula OCs the 10mg size didn't have the wax coating, so if yours are still the same as those this could be factoring in.

Ime the higher dose oxycontins work better for me as well... I believe it has something to do with the way the medication is released with the higher mg versions releasing more oxy per hour then the lower ones... Ex) the 10mg one will release about a mg an hour, while an 80mg will release approx 8mg an hour!! Makes quite the difference IMO.

The higher doses Oxy will always have .ore kick to them. Example: an 80mg Oxy always had more kick to it than two 40's.......its been 3 years since I've taken oxy for back pain so I don't know what the new stuff out now is like.
