When people talk about oxy, I hear three different names. What is the difference?

oxycocet
oxycodone
oxycontin

Are they all the same, just different names?

I don't know what oxycocet is.. but, oxycodone is the drug, oxycontin is the brand name. It's like acetaminophen is the drug, Tylenol is the brand name..

There is also Oxymorphone, which is a completely different chemical, though when most people say Oxy, they are referring to Oxycodone.

So with Oxycodone being the chemical, you have brands such as these that all contain that chemical:

Oxycontin
Roxicodone
Percocet
etc.

Also...oxymorphone is MUCH more potent than oxycodone.

It is one of the drugs I fear even more so than xanax or klonopins. It truly turns me in to a blacked out mad man.

Got it! Thanx everyone.

PsychedelicHaze, I kicked xanax but it was soooooooo hard. Over years, I got it down to one per day, then it took me 2 years to get off that one. I don't touch it anymore.
