I've taken oxycodone in dosages of 15 and 5mg, and each time felt good, real good. No nausea during or after.

Now I've taken oxycontin in dosages of 10-25mg, and every time I got sick as a dog the next day. Nausea, vomiting. And I have gotten high from oral hydrocodone, codiene, tramadol and morphine in decent dosages (no tolerance) with zero nausea. So there's something about oxyCONTIN that bothers me.

What's up with that? How can I avoid it? Would taking an enzyme inhibitor help (cimetidine, grapefruit juice, etc.)? I never took benadryl the following day, but usually the day of, as a potentiator. Maybe it would help, although I don't care for the feeling it gives me. Ideas? Thanks.

you threw up from 10mg of oxy, and not until the next day? but have no problem with 15mg of the instant release form?

mysterious. well, we will see if anyone says something like "one of the binders in the new OP time release system causes adverse reactions in a certain percentage of blah blah."

but really i think you are probably going to have bluelight stumped on this one. also, correlation does not equal causation and whatnot. you sure the only factor that was different between the times you got sick and the times you did not was -contin versus instant release?

but i bet people can give tips to reduce it. i think some antihistamines help with opiate related nausea. though i think that is more while you are high on them. but i don't know. let us see.

alcohol played a part only in the times I had the OCs and the 5mg of percocet (rather than the one time I had 3 of 'em, in which I was dry). So yeah, perhaps that's the culprit.

I've drank on all the other pills I mentioned though, with no side effects

^yup, i suspect we've found our answer. you are taking larger doses, and adding alcohol. and oxycodone really seems to create nausea in some people. it's the -morphones for me (though i don't get sick and i don't mind a little nausea for a good nod), but some people just don't stomach oxycodone very well.

i had a friend who i originally got into opiates with. we loved vicodin. same dose, no problem. one day we had oxy instead, and he got sick as fuck. we always used the same dose. people respond differently.

but we will still leave this open for a moment so you can get a few tips about how to reduce it. my biggest would be don't drink and use low doses. because it's next day sick, i don't know if there will be much else you can do. maybe plenty of water, like with alcohol? again, we will see.

alright. the solution really is: if it makes you sick, don't do it.

mixing opiates + other cns depressants increases the chances of dangerous reparatory depression, including benzos and alcohol.
