Oxycodone Vs. Methodone for pain

My mother is on hospice and has been prescribed methadone and Oxycodone. Which one of these would give her the best pain relief? Basically meaning if she’s in a 10/10 pain scale which should she go for first. Tia

Methadone as the main defense with oxy for breakthrough pain.

Methadone is more potent and lasts much longer than oxycodone, but it also takes a lot longer to reach peak effects (2-4 hours vs 1 hour for oxy)

Use the oxy for breakthrough pain.
