oxycodone/naloxone

So I have a few 10/5 oxy/nal tablets and I realise these are only for oral ingestion and that's the only way I intend on taking them. I have a few questions though, my first is, should I be worried about taking this if I am dependant on another opiate? That being 2,000mg codeine once daily, not a typo, my tolerance was at one stage double that, sadly. I keep reading people that are "dependant" need to be careful with naloxone even when only taken orally, which confuses me, I would of though most pain patients are dependant anyway or does the higher dose to dependance ratio mean someone with a high tolerance to opiates is going to go into withdrawal if they take naloxone orally regardless?

Also, I know suboxone throws you into precipitated w/ds. I dosed yesterday with codeine and can still feel it slightly in my system, if I were to crush up 6 of these oxy/nal and parachute them, will it throw me into precipitated withdrawal, or is that just a mechanism of suboxone? Am I just being paranoid?

And one last question, if this does happen to be safe to do, would promethazine and grapefruit juice (to potentiate the oxy) have any effect on the naloxone?

As you can see I am very paranoid about going into precipitated withdrawal so quick feedback would be appreciated.

If you take them, take them orally with the pills intact, for it is my belief that when crushed the naloxone then becomes much more available to be absorbed, and can defeat the activity of the oxycodone, via naloxone's antagonism. I am not 100 % sure of this, so I would take the tablets as they are, but cannot swear as to whether or not I am right as to why. I would not be concerned, however, with just taking them as they are, for they are designed for such a route of administration to lead to oxycodone's activity; so you won't get thrown into wd's by taking them as they are intended to be taken. I do believe the significant amount of the naloxone is never released from the matrix, or simply released deep in the gut where there is not much absorption going on. Other than that, just make sure you are safe with your dose, and have a happy time.

The dose of oxy is lower than I usually take so I'm fine on that front. I've been led to believe that they are time release, so if I don't crush them I won't get much effect.

I'm still worried about the naloxone though, I realise it won't put someone with a low - no tolerance into prcip w/ds but someone with a higher tolerance (myself) could possibly go into precip w/ds

Check oral bioavailability of naloxone and do your decision based on that.
