Oxycodone in Texas?

I am visiting TX from Canada. I didn't bring my medical records with me but I did have me prescription history. So I went to visit a GP who I obviously had no history with. I was a bit nervous walking into a clinic in Texas and specifically requesting clonazepam and oxycodone. Anyhow I left with 180 0.5mg and 180 generic Lortab.

Anyhow the doc said that they didn't really deal with oxycodone or fentanyl, just hydrocodone. Is this normal? In Canada hydrocodone is practically impossible. Also I was expecting much more trouble than I got. Is it usaly
